Bang! Bang! Eche! were an alternative rock band from Christchurch, New Zealand, active between 2007 and 2013. History The band started playing shows in early 2007. Towards the end of 2007, the band wrote and recorded a self-titled demo EP. The EP placed in the Top 5 Most Added Albums on US College Radio. It also gained rotation on US radio station KEXP, with single "4 To The Floor" played widely. The band were also played heavily on Australian network Triple J, and had two number one songs ("4 To The Floor" and "Nikee") on the alternative New Zealand b.net radio network. The songs "4 To The Floor" and "Time Mismanagement" charted on the NZ Industry Radioscope chart for 21 weeks in 2008, peaking at #3 and #2 respectively. In late 2008, the band toured the United States and Europe, while 2009 saw the band tour Australia, Europe and the United States extensively. Pianos is a two-story bar/restaurant/live music venue in the Lower East Side section of Manhattan at 158 Ludlow Street. Its stage attracts local and national alternative rock groups as well as DJs, though a more typical performance consists of smaller name local and touring acts. Pianos follows the example of Arlene's Grocery by keeping the "Pianos" name and sign from the store that previously existed there when it was conceivable that a piano store might make it on the Lower East Side. Rhythm And Vines
Rhythm and Vines (commonly known as R&V, RnV or Rhythm) is an annual music festival held at Waiohika Estate vineyard, northwest of Gisborne, New Zealand. The festival began in 2003 and was held for the one day of New Year's Eve until 2008 when it expanded to the three days of 29–31 December. History Rhythm and Vines was founded in 2003 by University of Otago friends Hamish Pinkham, Tom Gibson, and Andrew Witters. They wanted to hold an event for their university friends to celebrate the New Year in a safe and secure location where they would be entertained by New Zealand musicians. The Great Escape (festival)
The Great Escape was a music festival held at Newington Armory, located within Sydney Olympic Park that took place in 2006 and 2007. Initially held over the Easter long weekend for the first two events, in 2008 it was announced the festival would take place on the Labour Day weekend, however the event was cancelled 2 months from the date due to poor ticket sale It evolved from the 2005 Cockatoo island festival, Cockatoo Island Music Festival. The music and other attractions run over three full days (Good Friday to Easter Sunday in 2006–07), with some patrons camping from Thursday evening to Monday morning. Punters could attend either for the full weekend camping, purchase a 3-day pass and commute each day or attend a single day. Big Day Out
The Big Day Out (BDO) was an annual music festival that was held in five Australian cities: Sydney, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Adelaide, and Perth, as well as Auckland, New Zealand. The festival was held during summer, typically in January of each year but was sometimes held as late as early February in some cities including Perth. The event was conceptualised after the Violent Femmes announced a tour of Australia. Promoters Ken West and Vivian Lees sought another act as middle-level support for the band's tour. They succeeded in securing Nirvana to play the Sydney leg at the Hordern Pavilion.
