The Bamileke are a Central African people who inhabit the Western High Plateau of Cameroon. ''Bamileke'' is thought to be a colonial corruption of their original names. They were later joined by the Tikar, Bali, Bamum and Bafia peoples, who migrated into their current region of Cameroon.
