Balzan F.C.
Balzan Football Club is a Maltese football club from the village of Balzan, which currently plays in the Maltese Premier League. The Club was founded in 1937 and has played top-level football since 2010. The club has been one of the top teams in Malta and qualified to the Europa League for five seasons in a row from 2015-16 to 2019-20. Balzan finished runners up in the Malta Premier League in the 2016–17 and 2017–18 seasons and were finalists in the 2015–16 FA Trophy Final, which they lost on penalties 5-4 to Sliema, after the game finished 0-0 after extra time. In May 2019 the Club finally won its first major honour, conquering the Maltese FA Trophy after a classic final versus Valletta which finished 4-4 after extra time, but which Balzan won 5-4 on penalties. St Aloysius' College (Malta)
St Aloysius College (SAC) is a Catholic primary, secondary and post-secondary education institution run by the Euro-Mediterranean Province of the Society of Jesus in Birkirkara, Malta. It was founded by the Jesuits in 1907 to complement the seminaries and tertiary institutions already in existence on the island. Today, it comprises a coeducational primary school, boys' secondary school, and a coeducational sixth form. The College compound also houses its own church (dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus) which is used by the College community and open to the public, as well as a Sports and Recreational Complex. Momčilo Rašo (born 6 February 1997) is a Montenegrin professional footballer who plays as a centre back for Balzan. Club career Born in Kotor, Rašo began his career in FK Igalo in 2007, playing for them until 2014 before moving to Czech side FK Ústí nad Labem. After one season in FK Ústí nad Labem, he played for FK Dečić and FK Rabotnički. In June 2018, Rašo joined Cypriot club AEL Limassol on a three-year contract. 2008–09 Maltese FA Trophy
The 2008–09 Maltese FA Trophy was the 71st season since its establishment. It features 20 teams from Maltese Premier League and First Division. The competition started on 25 October 2008 and ended on 30 May 2009 with the Final. Birkirkara were the defending champions, but were eliminated in the semi-finals by Valletta. Maltese Second Division
The Maltese Second Division (also known as the BOV Second Division due to sponsorship reasons) was the third-highest division in Maltese football until 2020 when it was merged with the Maltese Third Division to create the National Amateur League. Structure 13 clubs formed the league and each played every other club twice. Three points were awarded for a win, one for a draw and zero for a loss. 2018–19 Maltese FA Trophy
The 2018–19 Maltese FA Trophy was the 81st edition of the football cup competition. A record number of 67 clubs competed in the FA Trophy, with the first round starting on the weekend of 1–2 September 2018 and concluding with the final played on 18 May 2019. Valletta were the defending champions, but lost in the final to Balzan on penalties, the latter winning their first ever FA Trophy title. Format The clubs in the Premier League, First Division, Second Division and Third Division together with those from the Gozo Football League are involved in the draws of the initial rounds.
