Balrog Botkyrka IK
Balrog Botkyrka IK is a Swedish floorball team from Botkyrka, a suburb of Stockholm. Balrog is currently playing in the third tier floorball league in Sweden. They have previously played in the highest tier league - the Swedish Super League. They debuted in SSL in the 1990/91 season. Balrog won their first championships in 1993 and has after that won 2 more, in 1996 and 2004. Swedish Super League (men's Floorball)
Swedish Super League ( sv, Svenska Superligan för herrar; formerly, ''Elitserien'') is the highest league in the league system of Swedish floorball and comprises the top 14 Swedish floorball teams. The first season began in 1995–96. The season ends with a play-off and a final. The champion of the league is eligible to compete at the Champions Cup. History The Swedish Super League was founded in 1995 under the name Elitserien. It then replaced the Division 1 league as the high level floorball league of Sweden. Between the seasons 1995–96 and 1998–99 the league was divided into a northern and a southern group. Since the 1999–2000 season, it is a national league. In March 2007, it was decided that the Elitserien will comprise 14 teams from the 2008–09 season. In May 2007, the name of league was changed from Elitserien to the Swedish Super League. Floorball
Floorball is a type of floor hockey with five players and a goalkeeper in each team. Men and women play indoors with sticks and a plastic ball with holes. Matches are played in three twenty-minute periods. The sport of bandy also played a role in the game's development. The game was invented in Sweden in the late 1960s. The basic rules were established in 1979 when the first floorball club in the world, Sala IBK, from Sala, was founded in Sweden. Official rules for matches were first written down in 1981. The sport is organized internationally by the International Floorball Federation (IFF). As of 2019, there were about 377,000 registered floorball players worldwide, up from around 300,000 in 2014. Botkyrka
Botkyrka Municipality ( ) is a municipality in Stockholm County in east central Sweden, not far from the capital Stockholm. Its seat is located in the town of Tumba. In 1971 ''Grödinge'' was merged with Botkyrka and in 1974 ''Salem'' was added. The Salem part was split off again in 1983, and a new Salem Municipality was formed. Hovet
Hovet (formerly known as Johanneshovs Isstadion or, in English: Johanneshov Stadium) is an arena located in the Johanneshov district of Stockholm (Stockholm Globe City) which is mainly used for ice hockey, concerts and corporate events. It was opened in 1955 as an outdoor arena, however a roof was added in 1962, and the arena interior has also been a subject to major renovation in 2002. AIK Innebandy
AIK Innebandy (often referred to as AIK IBF or simply AIK) is a Swedish floorball club and a department of AIK. The men's team played in Sweden's highest division, SSL, from the year 2000, but was relegated to Herrar Allsvenskan Norra in 2018 after ending the season 2017/2018 as second last. AIK won their first championship in 2006 when they defeated Pixbo Wallenstam IBK in the SSL final. In 2009 they won their second championship, beating Warberg IC in the final.
