Balochistan Independence Movement
The Insurgency in Balochistan is an insurgency or revolt by Baloch nationalists against the governments of Pakistan and Iran in the Balochistan region, which covers the Balochistan Province in southwestern Pakistan, Sistan and Baluchestan Province in southeastern Iran, and the Balochistan region of southern Afghanistan. Rich in natural resources like natural gas, oil, coal, copper, sulphur, fluoride and gold, this is the largest and least developed province in Pakistan. Armed groups demand greater control of the province's natural resources and political autonomy. Baloch separatists have attacked civilians from other ethnicities throughout the province. In the 2010s, attacks against the Shia community by sectarian groups—though not always directly related to the political struggle—have risen, contributing to tensions in Balochistan. Ansar Al-Furqan ( ar, انصار الفرقان, Partisans of the Criterion) is a Sunni Baloch militant organization active in Sistan and Baluchestan insurgency and a designated terrorist organization by Iran. The group was established in December 2013 by a merger of '' Harakat al-Ansar'' ( ar, حرکةالانصار) and ''Hizbul-Furqan'' ( ar, حزبالفرقان). United Baloch Army
United Baloch Army (UBA; ) was a militant group, fighting for the separation of Balochistan. The group has been designated as a terrorist organisation by the Pakistani government. The government of Pakistan banned the group on 15 March 2013. The group has also been Classified information, classified as a terrorist organisation by Switzerland's government. The group is led by Mehran Marri and was created as a result of an intrafamilial dispute between Mehran and his brother Hyrbyair Marri, the head of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). BLA terrorists accused Mehran of stealing $3 million dollars from their funds and $800 million rupees worth of weapons from the BLA. Baloch Republican Army
The Baloch Republican Army (BRA) ( ur, بلوچ ریپبلکن آرمی) was an armed militant group in Balochistan, Pakistan. It was believed to be militant wing of Baloch Republican Party. In September 2010, the Government of Pakistan banned the Baloch Republican Army. Brahumdagh Bugti was the head of BRA, until its merger with United Baloch Army (UBA). In 2017 Bugti's asylum request was rejected by Swiss authorities. The Swiss authorities said that Bugti's asylum request was rejected because he was involved in terror-related activities. Baloch Students Organization
The Baloch Students Organization (BSO; ur, ) is a student organisation that campaigns for the students of Pakistan's Balochistan Province. It was founded as a student movement on 26 November 1967 in Karachi and remains the largest ethnic Baloch student body in the country. It got divided due to ideological differences. BSO Pajjar and BSO Mengal are affiliated with the parliamentary framework of Pakistan. Balochistan Liberation United Front
The Balochistan Liberation United Front (BLUF) is a Baloch nationalism, Baloch nationalist India, Indian Supported militant organization in Pakistan. It first became known for claiming the kidnapping of American UNHCR worker John Solecki from Quetta on February 2, 2009. The BLUF demanded the release of thousands of Baloch nationalist prisoners it claimed were being held by the Government of Pakistan, Pakistani government in Baloch insurgency. Baluch Liberation Front
The Balochistan Liberation Front ( ur, بلوچستان لبریشن فرنٹ; BLF) is a militant group operating in the Balochistan region of southwestern Asia. The group was founded by Jumma Khan in 1964 in Damascus, and played an important role in the 1968–1973 insurgency in Sistan and Baluchestan province of Iran and 1973–1977 insurgency in Balochistan province of Pakistan.
