Balmohan Vidyamandir was founded on June 03, 1940 by Late Shri. S.D.Rege alias “Dada” as he was fondly known amongst his students, parents and the community, was a teacher par excellence. The School was named “Balmohan Vidyamandir”. “Balmohan” being coined from the names of Lokmanya Balgangadhar Tilak and Mahatma Gandhi and “Vidyamandir” meaning a temple of learning. Sucheta Bhide Chapekar
Sucheta Bhide Chapekar (born 6 December 1948) is an Indian classical dancer and choreographer. She is an exponent of Bharatnatyam. She is the founder of "Kalavardhini", a trust supporting the teaching and propagation activities in classical dance, where she also teaches Bharatnatyam. She has been a recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (2007). Born in 1948, Chapekar had her arangetram in 1963. She was trained under Acharya Parvati Kumar and K. P. Kittappa Pillai. In the subsequent years, she performed at many local concerts, including one at the Madras Music Academy in 1974. Post marriage, she moved to Pune. Dinesh S. Thakur (born 1961) is an Indian mathematician and a professor of mathematics at University of Rochester. Before moving to Rochester, Thakur was a professor at University of Arizona. His main research interest is number theory. Early life Thakur was born in Mumbai, India. He attended Balmohan Vidyamandir School in Bombay and completed his undergraduate education at Ruia College, University of Bombay. He got his Ph.D in 1987 at Harvard University under the guidance of Professor John Tate. Sandeep Patil ( ; born 18 August 1956) is a former Indian cricketer, Indian national age group cricket manager and former Kenya national team coach, who guided the underdogs to the semi-finals of the 2003 World Cup.
