Perumal Balasubramaniam (2 June 1960 – 15 March 2013), also known as P. Balasubramaniam and PI Bala, was a Malaysian police officer who garnered notoriety as the crown witness in the murder of Altantuya Shaariibuu in Shah Alam, Selangor. He was a former member of the Special Branch Police Office ( PDRM), and before that he served on Abdul Razak Baginda's payroll as a security officer, private investigator and possibly henchmen. He became a controversial figure, after he retracted the statement he made in a sworn affidavit. Sirpi Balasubramaniam (born 29 July 1936) is a Tamil poet, critic, scholar and professor from Tamil Nadu, India. Biography Balasubramaniam was born in Aaththupollachi village in Pollachi Coimbatore District. He obtained his MA from Annamalai University and PhD from Madras University. He worked as a lecturer in NGM college, Pollachi. He then became a Professor at the Tamil department of Bharathiar University. He eventually became the head of the Department. He was a founding member of the Vanambadi literary movement in the 1970s. He edited the movement's flagship journal of the same name and also another literary magazine called ''Annam vidu thoothu''. Ramamurthi Balasubramaniam (30 January 1922 – 13 December 2003) was an Indian neurosurgeon, author, editor, a pioneer in neurosurgery in India and often recognized as the Father of Neurosurgery of India. He set up the Department of Neurosurgery at the Government General Hospital, Chennai in 1950, the Department of Neurosurgery at the Madras Medical College and founded the Institute of Neurology, Madras in the 1970s. Kudavayil Balasubramanian (born Kudavayil, Tiruvarur district) is an archaeologist from Tamil Nadu, India. He is former curator and publication manager at Saraswathi Mahal Library located at Thanjavur. He is credited with discovering more than 100 inscriptions, coins, copper plates, sculptures, and paintings now in museums and temples in that state.
