Balaidas Chatterjee
Balaidas Chatterjee (10 March 1900 – 1974) was a former Indian football player and was the first head coach the India national football team during the 1948 Summer Olympics. During his playing days, Chatterjee played for Mohun Bagan in various domestic competitions. On 29 July 2013, it was announced that Chatterjee would receive the Mohun Bagan Ratna posthumously for his achievements while at the club. Playing career Chatterjee was brought up and coached by legendary Dukhiram Majumder, founder of Aryans. He joined then Calcutta Football League side Mohun Bagan AC in 1921 and was part of the "golden era" of the club during British rule in India. Being a multi-sports personality, he was a tough guy on field, known for giving a "fitting reply" to the Europeans during matches. The football tournament of the 1948 Summer Olympics was won by Sweden. This remains Sweden's only international title at a senior male football level and was the first international appearance of the trio that would later be known as Gre-No-Li dominating the Italian league at A.C. Sheoo Mewalal
Sheoo Mewalal (also known as Sahu Mewalal; 1 July 1926 – 27 December 2008) was an Indian footballer in Kolkata. He played as a striker and was known for his fitness, bicycle kicks, and goal-scoring abilities, especially using the rabona kick. Mewalal's playing career with a reported 1032 goals along with 32 hat-tricks in both the official and exhibition matches, was ended in 1958 due to an injury. Mohun Bagan AC (youth)
Mohun Bagan youth teams are the age group football teams of Indian professional multi-sports club Mohun Bagan. The U-21 and the reserve teams are generally referred to as last stage of progression for promotion of youth players into the first squad. The youth teams of various age groups participate in the Calcutta Football League, the Reliance Foundation Development League and the Elite League, also being directly eligible for the I-League 2. Umapati Kumar was a former footballer who played mostly as an inside forward. As a footballer, he represented India in international football, and Mohun Bagan AC in the Calcutta Football League. Personal life Umapati Kumar was born on 8 February 1898 in Chagram, located in the Burdwan district of West Bengal. His father Rajanikanta Kumar was a barrister in Kishanganj, Purnia district, Bihar. Syed Abdus Samad ( bn, সৈয়দ আবদুস সামাদ; 6 December 1895 – 2 February 1964) was a British Indian football player from Bengal. Dubbed "Football Jadukor" (), he played for India national football team in 1924 and captained it in 1926. He played as a forward. Samad's football career lasted from 1915–1938. Karuna Sankar Bhattacharya (1909–1979) was a former Indian footballer who represented and captained the India national football team and Mohun Bagan, a football club in Kolkata. The Karuna Bhattacharya Award is given to the best player of Mohun Bagan in every season. On 11 July 2015 Mohun Bagan conferred the "Mohun Bagan Ratna" to Karuna Bhattacharya. The Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment) was a line infantry regiment of the British Army in existence for just under 90 years, from 1881 to 1970.
