Baker Farm (Bunn, North Carolina)
Baker Farm, also known as Perdue Farm, is a historic home and farm complex located near Bunn, Franklin County, North Carolina. The house was built in the first quarter of the 19th century and renovated in 1856 in the Greek Revival style. It is a two-story, three bay frame dwelling with a late-19th century two-story rear wing. Also on the property are 10 contributing outbuildings including a smokehouse, wash house, two barns, a storage shed, and three tobacco barns. Bunn is a town in Franklin County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 327 at the 2020 census. History Bunn is named for Green Walker Bunn, who first settled southeast of the current town in the late 1800s. Greek Revival Architecture
The Greek Revival was an architectural movement which began in the middle of the 18th century but which particularly flourished in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, predominantly in northern Europe and the United States and Canada, but also in Greece itself following independence in 1832. It revived many aspects of the forms and styles of ancient Greek architecture, in particular the Greek temple, with varying degrees of thoroughness and consistency. A product of Hellenism, it may be looked upon as the last phase in the development of Neoclassical architecture, which had for long mainly drawn from Roman architecture.
