Baize is a coarse woollen (or in cheaper variants cotton) cloth, similar in texture to felt, but more durable. History A mid-17th-century English ditty—much quoted in histories of ale and beer brewing in England—refers to 1525: Hops, heresies, bays, and beer;Came into England all in one year. Paul Baize
Paul Achille‐Ariel Baize (11 March 1901 – 6 October 1995) was a French pediatrician and amateur astronomer specialising in double star observations. He started with his observations of double stars in 1925. Between 1933 and 1971 he was allowed to observe from the Paris Observatory. He made 20,044 measures over 47 years. Since 1954 he often published at the International Astronomical Union Commission 26 Information Circular, the last contribution sending in 1993, when he was 92 years old. In 1989 he received the Amateur Achievement Award of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific. The Baize is a river in northwestern France, crossing the departments of Orne and Calvados. It is 25.72 km long. The Orne () is a river in Normandy, within northwestern France. It is long. It discharges into the English Channel at the port of Ouistreham. Its source is in Aunou-sur-Orne, east of Sées. Its main tributaries are the Odon and the Rouvre. Bái Zé (), or in Japanese language, Japanese is a mythical cow-like beast from Chinese legend. Its name literally means "white marsh". The ''Bái Zé'' was encountered by the Yellow Emperor or ''Huáng Dì'' while he was on patrol in the east. Thereafter the creature dictated to ''Huáng Dì'' a guide to the forms and habits of all 11,520 types of supernatural creatures in the world, and how to overcome their hauntings and attacks. The emperor had this information written down in a book called the ''Bái Zé Tú'' (白泽图/白澤圖). This book no longer exists, but many fragments of it survive in other texts.
