Bahurupi
''Bahurupi'' is a Marathi language theater play. ''Bahurupi'' stars Prashant Damle and Rama Joshi . Prashant plays a double role - as a village street performer and as himself. Prashant received the Best Actor - 2010 - Maharashtra State Award for his ''Bahurupi'' performance. He also received the Master Dinanath Award for the best drama of the year in 2010. ''Bahurupi'' has completed over 200 performances. Plot The plot of ''Bahurupi'' is set in an old family house of the Mujumdars in Kolhapur, where the family members have gathered to celebrate the annual ''Navratri Pooja''. The gathered family include a Grandmother - Anandi Mujumdar (played by Rama Joshi), her daughter in law and three grand children. The Mujumdars have a family history of having performances by various artists for the annual Navratri Pooja. But, due to some inauspicious proceedings it has been stopped and the goddess has jinxed. Prashant Damle
Prashant Damle (born 5 April 1961) is a Marathi actor, comedian who has acted in numerous Marathi drama, movie and Soap opera over 35 years. He has been associated with Marathi theatre since 1983 and till date has performed in 27 different plays and a variety of hundreds of roles. Damle is widely recognized as the biggest ultimate superstar of Marathi theatre. In the journey of 35 years of performing arts, he has been honored with many prestigious awards. To date he has 5 Limca Book of Records in his name. He has also performed in 37 Marathi Feature Films and 24 Marathi serials. Rama Joshi
Rama (; ), Ram, Raman or Ramar, also known as Ramachandra (; , ), is a major deity in Hinduism. He is the seventh and one of the most popular ''avatars'' of Vishnu. Eknath ( IAST: Eka-nātha, Marathi pronunciation: knath (1533–1599), commonly known as Sant Eknath was an Indian Hindu saint, philosopher and poet. He was a devotee of the Hindu deity Vitthal and is a major figure of the Warkari movement. Eknath is often viewed as a spiritual successor to the prominent Marathi saints Dnyaneshwar and Namdev.
