The Bahamas has traditionally been the dominant nation at the official Caribbean Basketball Championship as it won more gold medals and more overall medals than any contender. The 2014 Men's Central American and Caribbean Basketball Championship, also known as 2014 Centrobasket, was the regional basketball championship of FIBA Americas for the Central American and Caribbean subzone. The top 4 teams qualify for the 2015 FIBA Americas Championship. The tournament was held in the city of Tepic in Nayarit, Mexico from August 1 to August 7. Mychel Thompson (born June 1, 1988) is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball at Pepperdine University.
