Baham, Cameroon
Baham (''Hom'' in the local language) is the seat of the Department of Hauts-Plateaux, in the Western Province of Cameroon. It also constitutes a traditional Bamileke chiefdom. It is situated 250 km (155 mi) from Douala and 20 km (12 mi) from Bafoussam. Bandjoun
Bandjoun (''La 'Djo'' in local language) is a town and commune in the Koung-Khi Department in the West Region of Cameroon. Bandjoun is also the capital of the Koung-Khi department, and one of the largest traditional ''chefferie'' (chiefdom) in Bamiléké country. The chief dwells in Hialah, and has many wives. Its inhabitants speak '' Ghomala''' or ''Bandjoun'' which is one of the Bamiléké family of languages. Geography Bandjoun is located some 10 km south of Bafoussam and some 230 km north-east of Douala. Access to the municipality is by the N4 road from Bafoussam which passes through the municipality then goes south-east to Bayangam. Bangou, Cameroon
Bangou is a village of the Bamileke people in the West Province (Cameroon), West Province of Cameroon with a population of around 12,000. However, most people that consider themselves "from Bangou" do not reside in Bangou, but in Yaoundé, Douala, Nkongsamba or other cities in Cameroon and the world. In fact there are Bangou associations in France, United Kingdom, Belgium and the United States as well as possibly other countries. Batié, Cameroon
Batié is a town and commune in the Hauts Plateaux Division in western Cameroon. It is located at latitude 5.283333 and longitude 10.28333. Batié is known for its association football club Sable FC, the "San San Boys", named after the sand production in this mountainous region. The climate in Batié is very mild. Rainy season typically lasts from March through October. Dry season begins in November and goes into March of the following year. The closest major city is the provincial capital of the West province, Bafoussam. The village is located on one of the few paved roads (N5) in Cameroon. Bafoussam
Bafoussam is the capital and largest city of the West Region of Cameroon, in the Bamboutos Mountains. It is the 3rd most important (financially) city in Cameroon, after Yaoundé and Douala. The ''communauté urbaine'' (Urban Community) of Bafoussam, is a decentralized territorial collectivity. Regions Of Cameroon
The Republic of Cameroon is divided into ten regions. In 2008, the President of the Republic of Cameroon, President Paul Biya signed decrees abolishing "provinces" and replacing them with "regions". Hence, all of the country's ten provinces are now known as regions. Most of these provinces were designated in the 1960s alongside Centre-South Province (split into Centre and South in 1983).
