Bahad
Bahad ( he, בה"ד, short for ''Bsis Hadrakha'' ( he, בסיס הדרכה), ''lit.'' Training base) is a military training base in the Israel Defense Forces. Each Bahad deals with a certain field, such as law enforcement or logistics. Generally, each Bahad belongs to a certain corps and conducts all courses required by the corps in question. Some training bases also train the new recruits of the corps. The Israel Defense Forces also has several Bahads which don't belong to any particular corps and exist for the sole purpose of training new recruits. They are called recruit training bases, or ''Batars'' ( he, בט"ר, short for ''Bsis Tironut'' ( he, בסיס טירונות)). Many Bahads were located in Camp Yadin (Tzrifin), until the establishment of Camp Ariel Sharon in southern Israel. Military Police Corps (Israel)
The Military Police Corps of the Israel Defense Forces ( he, חֵיל הַמִּשְׁטָרָה הַצְּבָאִית, ''Chayal HaMishtara HaTzva'it'' (shortened to ''Mishtara Tzvait''), commonly called "Mem Tzadik" or "Mem Tzadi", is the Israeli military police and Provost (military police), provost. The military police serves the Manpower Directorate during peacetime, and the Technological and Logistics Directorate during war. The military police is a brigade-sized of about 4,500, currently headed by Brigadier General Avichai Maibar. Tzrifin
Tzrifin ( he, צְרִיפִין) is an area in Gush Dan (Dan Region) in central Israel, located on the eastern side of Rishon LeZion and including parts of Be'er Ya'akov. The area proper is defined as an 'area without jurisdiction' between the two cities. Nearly the entire area of Tzrifin proper was taken up by the central Israel Defense Forces (IDF) base, Camp Yigael Yadin (a.k.a. Camp Tzrifin, Camp 782), with which it is synonymous, even though the base also spills into Rishon LeZion and Be'er Ya'akov. Camp Yadin contains a multitude of training bases, as well as Prison Four, the largest Israeli military prison. Camp Ariel Sharon ( he, מחנה אריאל שרון, ''Mahane Ariel Sharon''), also called the City of Training Bases ( he, עיר הבה"דים, ''Ir HaBahadim''), is a complex of military bases being built in southern Israel, belonging to the Israel Defense Forces and named after the former Major General and Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. Tironut
Tironut ( he, טירונות) is the Hebrew term for the recruit training of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). There are different levels of recruit training, and each corps or major unit has their own training program. Upon completing tironut, non-combat recruits are certified as Rifleman 02. Combat recruits must complete Rifleman 03 basic training. Generally, infantry-specific training ranges from Rifleman 05 (combat engineering) to Rifleman 07 (infantry and combat engineers sappers, upon completion of advanced infantry training), whereas armored or artillery corps complete Rifleman 03 training. Elite units such as Sayeret Matkal do not complete a standard basic training course for a rifleman certification and have their own extended training courses which last over one year. Bahad 4
Bahad 4 ( he, בה"ד 4), commonly known as Batar Zikim (בט"ר זיקים, ''lit.'' Zikim Training Base) is a training base (''Bahad'') belonging to the Israel Defense Forces. Zikim is located 8 km south of Ashkelon. It was named after the nearby kibbutz Zikim. The majority of new recruits in Zikim pass the Rifleman 02 recruit training (''tironut'') which has all but replaced the older 00 level that was usually reserved for non-combat woman recruits. Bahad 16 ( he, בה"ד 16; lit: Training base 16) is a training base (''bahad'') belonging to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) under the command of the Home Front Command Search and Rescue (SAR) unit. Because it is the only SAR training base, ''Bahad 16'' is synonymous with the SAR unit itself. Since 2021 it is located at the , Ramla, which is also the headquarters of the Home Front Command. Logistics Corps (Israel)
The Israeli Logistics Corps is a support corps in the IDF Technological and Logistics Directorate, which centralizes the logistical activity in the IDF, including the transporting of supplies, shipments of fuel, construction, and transport. Its training base, Bahad 6, is located in Tzrifin and is intended to be moved to the Training Base City in the Negev, whose construction is expected to be complete by 2009. Zikim
Zikim ( he, זִיקִים) is a kibbutz in southern Israel. Located in the northern Negev desert, it falls under the jurisdiction of Hof Ashkelon Regional Council. In it had a population of . History The kibbutz was established in 1949 on land that had belonged to the depopulated Palestinian village of Hiribya, by a group of young Romanian Jews who belonged to Hashomer Hatzair before their arrival in Mandatory Palestine in 1947.
