Baek Il-seob (; born June 10, 1944) is a South Korean film and television actor. In 2007 Baek landed in the news after he made remarks at a GNP rally denouncing candidate Lee Hoi-chang's late entry into the presidential race. Yeosu (; ''Yeosu-si''), historically also Yosu, and known to the Japanese as Reisui during the period when Korea was under Japanese rule, is a city located on the southern coast of the Korean Peninsula in South Jeolla Province, South Korea and comprises the Old Yeosu City, founded in 1949, Yeocheon City, founded in 1986, and Yeocheon County which were merged into the current Yeosu city in 1998. ''The Road to Sampo'' () is a 1975 South Korean film starring Baek Il-seob, Kim Jin-kyu and Mun Suk. The final and posthumous work of director Lee Man-hee, it is adapted from an original short story of the same name by Hwang Sok-yong. Lee collapsed during the editing phase of the film. The basic premise of the film comes from the blood type personality theory, which claims that a person's blood type can determine their personality traits. The heroine is type A (conservative and introverted) while her love interest is type B (passionate and irresponsible).
