Badminton At The 2010 Summer Youth Olympics
Badminton competition at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics was held from August 15 to August 19, 2010 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Format and schedule 32 players from each event were drawn into eight groups. Of the eight groups, only the group winner of each group advanced into the knockout stage, starting with the quarterfinals. The group stage were played from August 15–16, 2010, while the knockput stage were played from August 17–19, 2010. Qualification Only players born between January 1, 1992, and December 31, 1993, are eligible to participate. Highest ranked men and women (one per National Olympic Committee) qualify according to continental quotas at youth continental championships or based on continental ranking list (Two quotas each for Africa, America and Oceania, while five quotas each for Asia and Europe). Singapore Indoor Stadium
The Singapore Indoor Stadium, known exonymously as the Indoor Stadium, is an indoor arena located in Kallang, Singapore. It is within walking distance of the Singapore National Stadium, and collectively form a part of the wider Singapore Sports Hub. It has a maximum total capacity of 15,000 depending on configuration, with an all-seating configuration of 12,000. It regularly hosts events such as music concerts, badminton, basketball, netball, tennis, esports, pro-wrestling, mixed martial arts, kickboxing, and monster truck races. Dennis Coke (born 7 October 1993) is a Jamaican badminton player who competed at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics in Singapore. In 2009, he won the boys' singles and doubles at the All Jamaica Junior Championships. At the BWF International tournament, he was the men's doubles runner-up at the 2015 Carebaco International and mixed doubles runner-up at the 2017 Jamaica International. He also won the bronze medal at the 2016 Pan Am Badminton Championships in the mixed doubles event partnered with Wynter. In 2017, he won the Jamaican National Badminton Championships in the men's singles and doubles event partnered with Anthony McNee.
