Badminton At The 2021 Southeast Asian Games – Individual Event
The individual events for badminton at the 2021 Southeast Asian Games will be held from 19 to 22 May 2022 at the Bac Giang Gymnasium, Bắc Giang, Vietnam. It will be contesting 5 events: the men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles. Bắc Giang
Bắc Giang () is a city in Vietnam. It is the capital of Bắc Giang Province. Its name, deriving from that of the Province Sino-Vietnamese, means "north of the river." The location is very convenient for transportation: it is 50 km north of Hanoi, in the middle position on major transportation routes (roads, international railway) connecting Hanoi with the Lạng Sơn City and Đồng Đăng international border gate; Bắc Giang is located in an important transportation hub. Pramudya Kusumawardana Riyanto (born 13 December 2000) is an Indonesian badminton player from Sukabumi, who affiliate with Djarum club. He was part of the Indonesian junior team that won the bronze medals at the 2018 Asian and World Junior Championships, and also the boys' doubles bronze in the 2018 Asian Junior Championships. Career Early years Kusumawardana is a member of Djarum badminton club. In the National event, he won the boys' doubles junior title at the 2016 North Sumatera and Surabaya Opens and also the mixed doubles cadet title at the 2017 East Java Open. Lalinrat Chaiwan ( th, ลลินรัตน์ ไชยวรรณ; born Pattarasuda Chaiwan ( th, ภัทรสุดา ไชยวรรณ), 21 February 2001) is a Thai badminton player. She has shown her talent as a badminton player in the junior event tournament. She changed her first name to Phittayaporn ( th, พิทยาภรณ์) after visiting a temple for prayers for a brighter career in badminton. Gregoria Mariska Tunjung Cahyaningsih (born 11 August 1999) is an Indonesian badminton player who plays in the singles event. Her club is PB. Mutiara Cardinal in Bandung, West Java, and entered the national team in 2013. She won the girls' singles title at the 2017 World Junior Championships. Tunjung also featured in the Indonesian women's winning team at the 2022 Asia Team Championships. Career In 2014, Tunjung reached the final of the Malaysia International. Putri Kusuma Wardani (born 20 July 2002) is an Indonesian badminton player affiliated with Exist Jakarta club. Nguyễn Thùy Linh (born 20 November 1997) is a Vietnamese badminton player. She started her career by leaving her hometown in Phú Thọ Province, train at the Hanoi badminton club, and later joined Da Nang club. Yeo Jia Min (; born 1 February 1999) is a Singaporean badminton player. She is a former World Junior No.1 and the first Singaporean in either the junior or senior categories to made it to the top of the BWF's ranking system. Early life Yeo was born in Singapore to Malaysian Chinese emigrants who moved to Singapore and became permanent residents. Lee Shun Yang (, born 27 June 2001) is a Malaysian badminton player. He won the silver medals in the men's team at the 2021 and 2023 SEA Games; and also a men's singles bronze medal in 2023. Jason Teh Jia Heng (; born 25 August 2000) is a Singaporean badminton player. He won a bronze medal for Singapore as part of the team at the 2022 Asia Team Championships, 2022 Commonwealth Games, as well at the 2019, 2021, and the 2023 SEA Games. Early life Teh was born in Penang, Malaysia on 25 August 2000. He started playing badminton when he was four and moved to Singapore to study when he was 11.
