''Bad Buzz'' is the third EP by The Mint Chicks, released in February 2010 by MusicHy.pe. Title track "Bad Buzz" was featured on 95bfm's "Newsgood" segment co-hosted by guitarist Ruban Nielson in January 2010, and it was revealed by website MusicHy.pe that the EP will be released on a limited edition USB stick. The USB, designed by Ruban Nielson, was sent out to fans from the 15th of February, 2010. The Mint Chicks
The Mint Chicks were a New Zealand noise rock/art punk group (the band began to refer to their style of music as "troublegum" and have been referred to as anything from neo-punk to schizo-pop to the only half-serious genre definition of shit-gaze (along with groups like No Age and Wavves). The band is originally from Auckland who relocated to Portland, Oregon, USA in 2007. They are known for mixing pop hooks and structures with elements of noise rock and experimental music and also for their exciting live performances, where Kody and Ruban Nielson have been known to climb P.A. stacks, hang from lighting rigs, destroy guitars, engage in self-harm and even attack the stage with a chainsaw. Noise Rock
Noise rock (sometimes called noise punk) is a noise music, noise-oriented style of experimental rock that spun off from punk rock in the 1980s. Kody Nielson
Kody Seti Kimbulu (born 23 January 1978), known professionally as Kody or Kody Kim, is a Belgian television host, comedian, and radio personality. Kody was born in Schaerbeek, Belgium to a Congolese family. He attended the Université catholique de Louvain, Catholic University of Louvain, studying both politics and business management. After graduation, he joined the theatre group Kings of Comedy and began working in the radio industry, hosting radio shows on VivaCité and RTBF. In 2014, he was featured in the fourth season of Laurent Ruquier's show ''On n'demande qu'à en rire'' on France 2. He was a guest host for La Deux and C8 (French TV channel), C8 from 2015 to 2017. ''Screens'' is the third studio album from Portland, Oregon-based "troublegum" group The Mint Chicks and thus far the only Mint Chicks release not to feature bassist Michael Logie. It was released on March 16, 2009 in New Zealand, The Mint Chicks' homeland on Flying Nun Records. It was mixed in Portland, Oregon by the Nielson brothers and Jacob Portrait, with additional mixing by Chris Nielson in Auckland, New Zealand. The album's first single was "I Can't Stop Being Foolish". Sam Peacocke, the New Zealand music award winning director responsible for the band's videos for "Walking Off a Cliff Again" and "Crazy? Yes! Dumb? No!" filmed a new video for the single, which hit number 1 on the bFM chart on February 4, 2009 and stayed at this position for 2 weeks. Howie Weinberg is an American audio mastering engineer with over 2,257 mastering credits, three TEC Awards, 21 Grammy Awards, two Juno Awards, and one Mercury Prize. Career Weinberg mastered Herbie Hancock's 1983 album ''Future Shock''. Other mastering works include the Beastie Boys' ''Licensed to Ill'' and Nirvana's ''Nevermind''. Weinberg began working in the mail room at Masterdisk in 1979, delivering recording tapes in New York City. Mastering engineer Bob Ludwig acted as his mentor. In January 2011, he left Masterdisk to set up his own mastering company in Los Angeles, Howie Weinberg Mastering, which appeared in ''Voyage LA''s "Most Inspiring Stories" on February 11, 2021.
