''Backstreet Boys'' is the debut studio album by American boy band Backstreet Boys, released on May 6, 1996, by Jive Records in Germany. It was a success, becoming one of the biggest debut albums ever. It contains a number of the band's most memorable singles. All of those singles were later released on the group's second self-titled album, ''Backstreet Boys'' (1997), their debut in the United States in 1997, which compiled songs from this album and the band's second international release ''Backstreet's Back'' (1997). The album was first released in Germany on May 6, 1996, where the group was based at the time. It was then released in Switzerland followed by Austria. Backstreet Boys (often abbreviated as BSB) are an American vocal group consisting of Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, AJ McLean, and cousins Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson. Lou Pearlman formed the group in 1993 in Orlando, Florida. The group rose to fame with their international debut album, ''Backstreet Boys'' (1996). "Get Down (You're the One for Me)" is a song by American boy band Backstreet Boys. It was released on April 30, 1996 as the third single from their international self-titled debut album (1996). It was later included on their US debut album. Background In some countries "Get Down" was released as their debut single. The song features a rap in the second verse by both Smooth T. of the group Fun Factory, and band member AJ McLean. When performed live, other than a few isolated cases in which Smooth T. was able to join the band, McLean raps alternate lyrics during Smooth T.'s verse. Eric Foster White (born 1962) is a Grammy-nominated American songwriter, record producer, and musician who has written songs for pop acts such as Whitney Houston, Britney Spears, and the Backstreet Boys. Through his work with artists, White is credited with 70 million album sales worldwide and many hit singles. Career White graduated from the University of Miami in 1983 with a bachelor's degree. Eugene Wilde (born Ronald Eugene Broomfield, December 6, 1961) is an American R&B singer who had two No. 1 hits on the US ''Billboard'' R&B charts in the 1980s. Dag Krister Volle (26 April 1963 – 30 August 1998), better known as Denniz Pop (stylized ''Denniz PoP''), was a Swedish DJ, music producer, and songwriter. He co-founded the recording studio Cheiron Studios in Stockholm in 1992. Life and career Volle was born on 26 April 1963 to the Norwegian immigrants Jarl Gregar Volle and Anna Volle (née Innstøy).
