''Backroad Nation'' is the fifteenth studio album by Australian country singer Lee Kernaghan. It was released digitally and physically in Australia on 10 May 2019 through ABC Music/ Universal Music Australia. The album peaked at number 3 on the ARIA Charts. Kernaghan describes the album as "a celebration of us, our way of life and the people who make our country great. Much of the inspiration for the songs has come from the people I've met and the places I've travelled to from Alice Springs to the Deni Ute Muster, from the mighty Pilbara region in WA to backroads QLD and everywhere in between." At the Country Music Awards of Australia of 2020, the album won Top Selling Album of the Year. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2019, the album was nominated for ARIA Award for Best Country Album. Lee Kernaghan
Lee Kernaghan OAM (born 15 April 1964) is an Australian country music singer, songwriter and guitarist. Kernaghan has won four ARIA Awards and three APRA Awards, and has sold over two million albums, and as of 2021, has won 38 Golden Guitars at the Country Music Awards of Australia (second to Slim Dusty). He was the 2008 Australian of the Year, in recognition of his support for rural and regional Australia. The Wolfe Brothers are an Australian country music duo consisting of brothers Tom and Nick Wolfe. The group formerly included childhood friends Brodie Rainbird and Casey Kostiuk. The 2020 AIR Awards was the fourteenth annual Australian Independent Record Labels Association Music Awards ceremony (generally known as the AIR Awards). It took place on 1 October 2020 in Adelaide. The nominations were revealed on 7 July 2020, consisting of sixteen categories, up four from twelve, as was the case in 2019.
