Back2Basics
Back2Basics is an Irish radio show on the Irish state broadcaster RTÉ. It airs on RTÉ Pulse, the dedicated electronic dance music station every Wednesday 11pm - midnight, live on DAB digital radio (where available), the RTÉ Player, the RTÉ Radio Player, the UPC cable service (channel 493), and nationally via the free-to-air Saorview TV service (channel 205) and online via the internet. The show was previously broadcast using only vinyl records. It went fully digital in January, 2019. In June 2019 the show was chosen to be part of the Mixcloud Select programme. The show is presented by Simon Palmer Simon Palmer is an English DJ from Cumbria, England. He presents the radio show Back2Basics, which airs on RTÉ Pulse. Simon Palmer
Simon Palmer is an English DJ from Cumbria, England. He presents the radio show Back2Basics, which airs on RTÉ Pulse. It is formally Ireland's only weekly all-vinyl radio show and was the first vinyl show to appear on RTÉ since the 1990s. Back2Basics formerly aired on Dublin South FM and NRG FM from July 2012 to December 2013. A published journalist, he writes for Mixmag. In 2007 he founded the company Republic PR. Initially a property PR specialist (formerly his role in the UK), he assisted Irish investors in raising the profile of their plight as victims of overseas property scams and helped them form action groups so they could instigate legal action to recover funds from abroad. RTÉ Pulse
RTÉ Pulse is an electronic dance music station from Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ), Ireland's national broadcaster. It plays a varied mix of dance music, with a small number of shows covering RnB. It started broadcasting in April 2008, but had an official launch alongside its sister services on 1 December 2008. It broadcasts on Saorview, Ireland's free-to-air DTT service in Ireland, as well as on Virgin Media cable television and over the Internet. Until 31 March 2021, the service also broadcast on DAB via the RTÉ Multiplex 1. Dublin South FM
Dublin South FM is a Community Radio station for South Dublin, which broadcasts seven days a week from 11am to 11pm on 93.9 FM, and broadcasts 24 hours a day on digital. The station is operated by a democratic co-operative, Dublin South FM Co-Op, and is open to all individuals and organisations in South Dublin. Over 70 volunteers produce and broadcast 84 hours of programmes each week from its studios in Dundrum Town Centre. Mixcloud
Mixcloud is a popular British online music streaming service that allows for the listening and distribution of radio shows, DJ mixes and podcasts, which are crowdsourced by its registered users. In April 2018, Mixcloud announced that it raised $11.5 million from WndrCo LLC, a holding company based in Los Angeles and San Francisco that invests in media and technology businesses for the long term. The financing will fund Mixcloud's expansion globally. History Mixcloud was founded as a startup company through the lean startup process in 2008 by Nikhil Shah and Nico Perez, who met at the University of Cambridge.
