Carmit Maile Bachar ( he, כרמית בכר; born September 4, 1974), known professionally as Carmit, is an American singer, dancer, model, actress and showgirl. She is a member of the Pussycat Dolls. She is married to longtime partner Kevin Whitaker and gave birth to Keala Rose on September 18, 2011. In November 2019, it was announced that Carmit had rejoined the Pussycat Dolls for their 2020 reunion tour. They released their comeback single React on February 7, 2020. Early life Bachar was born in Los Angeles, her father is of Jewish Israeli descent and her mother is of Indonesian, Dutch and Chinese descent. She was born with a cleft lip and cleft palate. The Pussycat Dolls were an American girl group and dance ensemble, founded in Los Angeles, California, by choreographer Robin Antin in 1995 as a burlesque troupe. At the suggestion of Jimmy Iovine, Antin decided to take the burlesque troupe mainstream as a pop group. Dian Bachar (; born October 26, 1970) is an American actor most notable for his roles in various films by or starring his friends Trey Parker and Matt Stone, such as ''Cannibal! The Musical'' (George Noon), ''Orgazmo'' (Ben Chapleski) and his most famous role as Kenny "Squeak" Scolari in 1998's ''BASEketball'', as well as making the occasional appearance on ''South Park''. John Bachar
John Bachar (March 23, 1957 – July 5, 2009) was an American rock climber. Noted for his skill at free soloing, he ultimately died during a free solo climb. A fitness fanatic, he was the creator of the climbing training device known as the Bachar ladder. Early life and education Bachar was born in 1957. He grew up in Los Angeles, California, and started climbing at the bouldering hot spot of Stoney Point in the northern San Fernando Valley. After attending Westchester High School, graduating in 1974, he attended UCLA, where his father was a math professor, but dropped out to climb full-time. Obsessed with the sport, he immersed himself in books on physical training and nutrition, and soon was able to outperform his fellow climbers. Oshrat Bachar ( he, אושרת בכר; born 1979) is a Sgan Aluf, Lieutenant colonel in the Israel Defense Forces and a commander of the Field Intelligence 727 Battalion ''"Eitam"'' which is part of the Southern Command (Israel), Southern Command and operates in the Gaza border of Jordan and in the Egyptian border. Shai Bachar (שי בכר; also "Shay"; born October 27, 1969) is an Israeli Olympic competitive sailor. Sailing career Bachar competed for Israel at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Olympic Port, Barcelona, at the age of 22 in Sailing--Men's Two Person Dinghy (470 event) with partner Erez Shemesh. Yossi Bachar ( he, יוסי בכר; born 9 April 1964) is an Israeli Major general (Aluf) who commands the IDF's General Staff Corps. Military service Bachar was drafted into the IDF in 1983. The Bachar ladder is a form of rope ladder used as a training device by rock climbers to improve overall upper body strength. Named after noted free soloist John Bachar, Bachar ladders typically consist of PVC rungs joined by webbing or cord to create an unstable structure similar to the ratlines of a sailing ship. However, unlike ascending ratlines leaning inward using one's legs for upward progress and arms for steadying, the Bachar Ladder is typically hung at an overhanging angle of 20-45° and climbed from below using only the arms. Whereas the campus board focuses more on powerful, sometimes far reaching movements, the Bachar ladder differs in that it swings slightly when it is being climbed, requiring the climber to use more core tension to maintain stability. For athletes who have practiced pulling movements using only fixed or stable points, the Bachar ladder can improve strength and efficiency of climbing/pulling movements.
