Frederick Babson
Frederick Augustus Babson, Jr. (July 9, 1930 – September 17, 1999) was an attorney and politician from Fairfax County, Virginia who was the inaugural holder of the position of chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, a job he held from 1968 to 1970. Babson came to the area in 1958 to work for Turney & Turney, a law firm in Washington, D.C. In June 1960, Babson was appointed by the Fairfax County board of supervisors to coordinate the county's defense against the City of Falls Church, which sought to annex roughly 4.5 square miles of the county. After several months gathering evidence to fight the suit, Babson resigned in February 1961 to return to private practice with what was now the law firm of Turney, Major, Markham and Sherfy. In 1963, Babson was elected to the Falls Church District seat on the Fairfax County board of supervisors, defeating incumbent Republican Robert C. Cotten. In January 1966, he was elected chairman of the board by his fellow supervisors. ...

Janis Babson
Janis Anne Babson (September 9, 1950 – May 12, 1961) was a Canadian girl who received posthumous acclaim with the donation of her corneas for transplant after her death from leukemia at the age of 10. Her story was reported in a newspaper article syndicated across Canada, inspiring two books and other memorials. When Janis died of leukemia in 1961, corneal transplantation was a relatively unknown procedure. Although parents who lose young children frequently donate some of their organs to others, Janis's bequest was significant because the donation of her eyes at her death was her own idea, and it inspired many other people—across Canada and elsewhere—to become cornea donors as well. Roger Babson
Roger Ward Babson (July 6, 1875 – March 5, 1967) was an American entrepreneur, economist, and business theorist in the first half of the 20th century. He is best remembered for founding Babson College. He also founded Webber College, now Webber International University, in Babson Park, Florida, and the defunct Utopia College, in Eureka, Kansas. Babson was born to Nathaniel Babson and his wife Ellen Stearns as part of the 10th generation of Babsons to live in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Roger attended Massachusetts Institute of Technology and worked for investment firms before founding Babson's Statistical Organization (1904), which analyzed stocks and business reports; it continues today as Babson-United, Inc. On March 29, 1900, Babson married his first wife, Grace Margaret Knight, who died in 1956. In 1957, he married Nona M. Dougherty, who died in 1963. Babson died in 1967.
