Baarish (film)
''Baarish'' () is a 1957 Indian Hindi-language crime drama film with Dev Anand and Nutan in the lead roles. Based on the American film ''On the Waterfront'', it is the directorial debut of Shankar Mukherjee. Plot Ramu is a young carefree man who raises pigeons. One day, he experiences the shock of his life when his best friend Gopal is murdered. For Ramu, one thing is certain, that he wants revenge. From a stooge, Ramu learns that behind Gopal's death is a gangster, "Boss". Even as Ramu is in love with his another friend Mohan's sister Chanda, he wants to take revenge for the killing. Even on the wedding night, the opportunity to meet boss can not be missed by Ramu. After several twists and with the help of Mohan, they manage to outsmart Boss aka Bihari. Now Ramu can finally devote himself to his wife Chanda, who is expecting their first child. "Baarish" () is a Hindi song from the film ''Half Girlfriend''. It is written by Arafat Mehmood and Tanishk Bagchi, and composed by Tanishk Bagchi. It is sung by Ash King. Background According to a report by the Hindustan Times newspaper, singer Jubin Nautiyal claimed he had recorded the song and was shocked when he realized his version was not retained. Reacting to the statement, composer Tanishk Bagchi said they had recorded the song with many singers but found Ash King's version to be the most suitable for the film. Release and response It was released on 11 April 2017 by Zee Music Company on YouTube. The recording by Ash King was well received; within a few days of its release, the music video garnered 10 million views on YouTube. As of August 2017, the official music video of the song has garnered 120 million views on YouTube, making it one of the most streamed Hindi/Bollywood music videos on YouTube. ''Baarish - When you are in mood for romance'' is a 2019 Hindi web series developed by Ekta Kapoor for video on demand platform ALTBalaji & ZEE5. The series stars Asha Negi and Sharman Joshi as protagonists and revolves around their completely opposite personalities and explores their lives. The series is available for streaming on the ALTBalaji app and its associated websites since its release date. The series was launched on Zee TV on 25 March 2020 as a substitute to the Zee TV shows whose broadcast had to be stopped by the channel due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
