The Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP) (Meritorious Autonomous University of Puebla) is the oldest and largest university in Puebla, Mexico. Founded on 15 April 1578 as Colegio del Espíritu Santo, the school was sponsored by the Society of Jesus during most of the Spanish colonial era before turning into a public college in 1825 and eventually into a public university in 1937. The religious origins can be seen in many of BUAP's buildings in Puebla city centre, which were once colonial-era churches. The flagship campus is located in the city of Puebla, although more than nine facilities are distributed across the state. Currently, it is one of the 105 institutes participating in the Alice Experiment at CERN. Club de Fútbol Lobos de la Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla were a Mexican football club based in Puebla, Mexico. The club represented the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla. The club's history goes back to the early 1930s when it was known as Preparatoria, formed exclusively by players who attended the university. The club has played on and off since then. It was not until the 1990s when the club made a serious comeback after playing in the lower levels of Mexican football. In 2003, the club was awarded a spot in the Primera A (now Liga de Expansión MX), where the club played until promotion in 2017 to Liga MX. The club marked its home in the Estadio Universitario BUAP. Puebla de Zaragoza (; nah, Cuetlaxcoapan), formally Heroica Puebla de Zaragoza, formerly Puebla de los Ángeles during colonial times, or known in English simply as Puebla, is the seat of Puebla Municipality. Zacapoaxtla is a city and seat of the Zacapoaxtla Municipality, in the Mexican state of Puebla. Tetela De Ocampo
Tetela de Ocampo is a town in Tetela de Ocampo Municipality in the Sierra Norte region of the Mexican state of Puebla. "Tetela" is a name of Nahuatl origin, containing the elements ''tetl'' (hill) and ''tla'' (many): it thus means "place of many hills". Nahuas still inhabit the area. The Mexican Consortium of Universities (Spanish: ''Consorcio de Universidades Mexicanas'', CUMEX) is a selective group of Mexican public higher education institutions, recognized by their higher quality standards. Cuetzalan
Cuetzalan () is a small town set high in the hills in the north of the Mexican state of Puebla, from Puebla, the state capital. Franciscan friars founded the town in 1547. Overview Cuetzalan is located in the Sierra Norte region. The climate is warm and humid due to the elevation of 900–1000 meters and proximity to the Gulf of Mexico. The town itself is characterized by sloping cobbled streets and numerous rustic buildings. It serves as the municipal seat for the surrounding municipality of Cuetzalan del Progreso. Cuetzalan was named a "Pueblo Mágico" in 2002. The town center is composed largely of handicraft markets as well as numerous stalls selling every-day necessities.
