Bionicle
Bionicle was a line of Lego construction toys, marketed primarily towards 8-to-16-year-olds. The line originally launched in 2001 as a subsidiary of Lego's Technic series. Over the following decade, it became one of Lego's biggest-selling properties, turning into a franchise and playing a part in saving the company from its financial crisis of the late 1990s. Despite a planned twenty-year tenure, the theme was discontinued in 2010, but was rebooted in 2015 for a further two years. Unlike previous Lego themes, Bionicle was accompanied by an original story told across a multimedia spectrum. It depicts the exploits of the Toa, heroic biomechanical beings with innate elemental abilities whose duty is to maintain peace throughout their universe. ''Bionicle: Mask of Light'', stylized as ''BIONICLE: Mask of Light — The Movie'', is a 2003 computer-animated science fantasy action film based on the Bionicle toyline by Lego, and particularly serves as a direct adaptation to the latter half of the toyline's 2003 narrative. Set in a universe filled with bio-mechanical beings allied with classical element-themed tribes, the story follows two friends from the fire-based village of Ta-Koro on a quest to find the owner of the Mask of Light, a mystical artifact that can potentially defeat Makuta, an evil entity threatening the island. The Legend Reborn
''Bionicle: The Legend Reborn'' is a 2009 computer-animated science fantasy action film based on the Bionicle toy line by Lego. It is the fourth and final Bionicle film to be released. Distributed by Universal Studios Home Entertainment, the film is a stand-alone sequel to the trilogy of films released by Buena Vista Home Entertainment under the Miramax Home Entertainment label. It follows the toy line's 2009 story and features a different set of characters than that of the first three films. ''The Legend Reborn'' was released on September 15, 2009 in the United States and Canada, October 5 in the United Kingdom, and September 2 in Australia. Gregory Todd Farshtey (born July 14, 1965) is an American writer, best known for his work on the Bionicle series of novels (2003–2010), the Bionicle comics (2001–2010), and the Ninjago graphic novel series. Literary career Gregory Todd Farshtey was born in Mount Kisco, New York, and subsequently grew up in nearby Monroe, New York and Stamford, Connecticut. In high school, Farshtey began writing seriously, where he wrote and edited a weekly satirical newsletter, Lunatic News and World Report. After graduating with a B.A. in communications from the State University of New York at Geneseo, he worked as a reporter and sports editor before securing an editorial position with West End Games. RoboRiders was a short-lived Lego theme launched in 2000, following the Throwbots/Slizers, and preceding Bionicle. A total of seven official sets and four promotional sets were released while this series lasted. Special cans, when exposed to cold temperatures, would reveal codes used to play an online game. Lego Technic
Lego Technic is a line of Lego interconnecting plastic rods and parts. The purpose of this series is to create more advanced models with more complex technical functions, compared to the simpler brick-building properties of normal Lego. Overview The concept was introduced as the ''Expert Builder'' series and originally ''Technical Sets'' in 1977, and was renamed ''Technic'' in 1982. Technic sets are often characterized by the presence of special pieces, such as gears, axles, and pins. Other special pieces include beams and plates with holes in them, through which the axles could be installed. Some sets also come with pneumatic pieces or electric motors.
