The 11th BET Awards took place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California on June 26, 2011. The awards recognized Americans in music, acting, sports, and other fields of entertainment over the past year. Comedian and actor Kevin Hart hosted the event for the first time. Shrine Auditorium
The Shrine Auditorium is a landmark large-event venue in Los Angeles, California. It is also the headquarters of the Al Malaikah Temple, a division of the Shriners. It was designated a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument (No. 139) in 1975, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. History Opened in 1926, the current Shrine Auditorium replaced an earlier 1906 Al Malaikah Temple which had been destroyed by a fire on January 11, 1920. The fire gutted the structure in just 30 minutes, and nearly killed six firefighters in the process. In the late 1960s, the Shrine was referred to as "The Pinnacle" by the audiences of rock concerts. William Leonard Roberts II (born January 28, 1976), known professionally as Rick Ross, is an American rapper. "Regulate" is a song performed by American rapper Warren G featuring American singer Nate Dogg. It was released in the spring of 1994 as the first single on the soundtrack to the film '' Above the Rim'' and later Warren G's debut album, '' Regulate... G Funk Era'' (1994). It became an MTV staple and the song reached No. 2 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and No. 8 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart. The West Coast hip hop track employs a four-bar sample of the rhythm of Michael McDonald's song " I Keep Forgettin' (Every Time You're Near)". It also samples "Sign of the Times" by Bob James and " Let Me Ride" by Dr. Dre. After 7 is an American R&B group founded in 1987 by brothers Melvin and Kevon Edmonds, and their friend Keith Mitchell. The Five Heartbeats
''The Five Heartbeats'' is a 1991 musical drama film directed by Robert Townsend, who co-wrote the script with Keenen Ivory Wayans.
