BC Pärnu
BC Pärnu, also known as BC Pärnu Sadam (Port of Pärnu) for sponsorship reasons, is a professional basketball club based in Pärnu, Estonia. The team plays in the Latvian–Estonian Basketball League. Their home arena is the Pärnu Sports Hall. In 2022 KML Play-offs, 2022, the team won their first Korvpalli Meistriliiga, Estonian Championship. History BC Pärnu was founded in 2000. In 2006, the Pärnu men's team were promoted to the top-tier Korvpalli Meistriliiga (KML). The team finished the 2006–07 KML season, 2006–07 season last, winning only two games. Pärnu finished the 2007–08 KML season, 2007–08 regular season in seventh place and advanced to the playoffs for the first time where they were defeated in the quarterfinals by BC Kalev, Kalev, losing the series 0–2. Korvpalli Meistriliiga
The Korvpalli Meistriliiga ( en, Basketball Champions League), known as the OlyBet Korvpalli Meistriliiga for sponsorship reasons, is the highest tier level and most important professional basketball league in Estonia. It is controlled by the Estonian Basketball Association. The first Estonian Basketball Championship tournament was held in 1925. During Soviet era (1941–1991) the league was called the Estonian Soviet Socialist Republic Championship. After Estonia regained its independence in 1991, the league was reformed as the Korvpalli Meistriliiga (KML). The KML, which is played under FIBA rules, currently consists of eight teams. The current KML champions are Pärnu who won their first Estonian Championship in the 2022 KML Play-offs. Martin Müürsepp
Martin Müürsepp (; born 26 September 1974) is an Estonian professional basketball coach and former player, who is the head coach of BC Rakvere Tarvas of the Estonian-Latvian Basketball League. Widely regarded as one of Estonia's greatest basketball players of all time, he is the only Estonian to have played in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Early life Müürsepp was born in Tallinn, to Hilja Volter, who worked in a barbecue restaurant, and Suido Müürsepp, a truck driver. He attended the Tallinn Secondary School No. 39, the Tallinn Secondary School No. 43, and the Tallinn Secondary School No. 49, leaving without graduating in 1991. Müürsepp started playing basketball when he was nine years old, under coach Andres Sõber. He made his Korvpalli Meistriliiga debut in 1990, at age 15, playing for TPedI. The 2013–14 Alexela Korvpalli Meistriliiga was the 89th season of the Estonian basketball league and the first under the title sponsorship of Alexela. Kalev/Cramo came into the season as defending champions of the 2012–13 KML season. The season started on 27 September 2013 and concluded on 21 May 2014 with Kalev/Cramo defeating TÜ/Rock 4 games to 0 in the 2014 KML Finals to win their 7th Estonian League title. Heiko Rannula (born July 28, 1983) is an Estonian professional basketball coach and former player, who is currently a head coach for Kalev/Cramo, and an assistant for Jukka Toijala in Estonian National Team. Professional player career Heiko Rannula graduated from Tartu Karlova Gymnasium in 2001. He started training with Jüri Neissaare. He has played in the Estonian youth (U16) and junior (U20) teams. He has also been a member of the Estonian National team. Rannula is the Estonian youth champion in the U16 and U20 age classes. He became the Estonian champion with Tartu team in 2001 and 2004, in addition to winning the Estonian Cup in 2002 and 2004. He played for several Estonian basketball clubs. Coaching He started working as an assistant coach at KK Pärnu in 2015, but was promoted the head coach in 2016.
