The Professional Basketball League (russian: Профессиональная баскетбольная лига (ПБЛ), Professionalʼnaya basketbolʼnaya liga), often abbreviated to the PBL, was the pre-eminent men's professional basketball league in Russia, and the successor to the Russian Super League 1, which is now the second-tier division of the Russian basketball league system. The PBL was the second version of the Russian Professional Basketball Championship. Sergei Valerianovich Bazarevich (russian: Сергей Валерьянович Базаревич; born 16 March 1965) is a Russian former professional basketball player and coach. At and , he played at the point guard and shooting guard positions. Bazarevich was a regular member of the senior Russian national basketball team, with whom he won silver medals at the EuroBasket 1993 and the 1994 FIBA World Championship. Stanislav Georgiyevich Yeryomin (russian: Станислав Георгиевич Ерёмин; born February 26, 1951 in Sverdlovsk, Soviet Union), last name also spelled Eremin and Yeremin, is a prominent retired Russian professional basketball player and coach. During his playing career, at a height of 1.81 m (5'11 ") tall, he played at the point guard position. He is also a retired Russian Army Colonel. Chester Simmons III (born July 24, 1982), better known as Tre Simmons, is an American former professional basketball player. Brion Rush (born November 15, 1984) is an American professional basketball player for the Crailsheim Merlins of the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL). He played college basketball for Grambling State University. College career Brion Rush played college basketball for Grambling State from Southwestern Athletic Conference. 2014–15 VTB United League
The 2014–15 VTB United League was the 6th complete season of the VTB United League. It was the second season in which the VTB United League functioned as the new domestic first tier level for Russian professional basketball clubs, which can qualify through this league to EuroLeague. CSKA Moscow was the defending champion. CSKA successfully defended its title, as they took the league title by beating Khimki 3–0 in the Finals. Teams On 20 July 2014, drawing of two group of 11 teams was held in Moscow. On 25 July 2014, five Lithuanian teams (Lietuvos rytas, Neptūnas Klaipėda, Dzūkija, Lietkabelis, Nevėžis) withdrew from the competition due to the Lithuanian Basketball League's decision to expand its regular-season schedule up to 40 games per team. 2013–14 EuroChallenge
The 2013–14 EuroChallenge was the 11th edition of Europe's third-tier level transnational competition for men's professional basketball clubs. The winner and the runner-up of this competition earned a place at the group stage of the 2014–15 Eurocup season. The Final Four was held in PalaDozza in Bologna, Italy. The host of the tournament, Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia won the Final by beating Triumph Lyubertsy 79–65. Italian player Andrea Cinciarini received the Final Four MVP award. Competition format changes This year's EuroChallenge saw a number of innovations, including the division of the participating clubs into two main Conferences for the Regular Season - Conference 1 and Conference 2 - based on a broad geographical criteria.
