BC Angels
The BC Angels were a women's football team in the Lingerie Football League (LFL) and played in the 2012 LFL Canada season. Based in Abbotsford, British Columbia, (70 kilometres away from Vancouver) the Angels played their home games at the Abbotsford Entertainment & Sports Centre. The Angels won the Lingerie Bowl Canada I, the league championship in the only season it was contested. History The Angels were the second team announced as a charter team in LFL Canada following the Toronto Triumph, which had played in the Lingerie Football League in the 2011–12 season. Along with the Regina Rage and Saskatoon Sirens, the LFL Canada commenced play with four teams for its inaugural 2012 season. Los Angeles Temptation
The Los Angeles Temptation were a women's American football team in the Legends Football League, previously known as the Lingerie Football League, based in Los Angeles and Ontario, California. The team was established as Team Dream, one of two teams that participated in the inaugural Lingerie Bowl broadcast during Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2004. The team won the first two Lingerie Bowls in 2004 and 2005, and then again in 2010, 2011, and 2012 after the Lingerie Football League had launched in 2009. Calgary Fillies
The Calgary Fillies were a proposed women's football expansion team in the Legends Football League (LFL) that was to begin play in the 2013 LFL Canada season. Based in Calgary, Alberta, the Fillies were to play their home games at the Stampede Corral. History The Legends Football League (LFL) announced on June 27, 2013, that an expansion franchise was granted to Calgary, following a failed effort in 2012 due to a failed lease negotiation with ScotiaBank Saddledome. A series of public tryouts were held on July 7 at the Genesis Centre and on July 20. The original head coach for the Fillies was Jarrod Neufeld and the team manager was Daniel Reaume. Abbotsford News
The ''Abbotsford News'' is a Canadian community newspaper in Abbotsford, British Columbia published by Black Press. ''The News'' publishes more than 40,000 copies two times a week distributed across Abbotsford and also the adjacent municipality of Mission. ''The News'' claims to be one of the first community newspapers in the province due to its roots from the ''Abbotsford Post'' established in 1906 by Mission publisher John A. Bates. The Post was sold in 1922 and changed its name to ''Abbotsford, Sumas and Matsqui News''. Other sales to new owners occurred in 1938 and 1962. Black Press purchased The News in 1997. Legends Football League
The Extreme Football League (X League) is an American women's semi-professional tackle football league. The league was originally founded in 2009 as the Lingerie Football League (LFL), and later rebranded as the Legends Football League in 2013. On December 13, 2019, the league announced that it would not be holding a 2020 season and that it had instead restructured under its current name, placing new teams mostly in the same locations as the 2019 LFL season. The 100th Grey Cup was a Canadian football game between the East Division champion Toronto Argonauts and the West Division champion Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League to decide the Grey Cup champions of the 2012 season. The game took place on Sunday, November 25, 2012, at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario. This was the fourth (and last) Grey Cup game played at Rogers Centre (by the next Grey Cup game that Toronto hosted in 2016, it was played at BMO Field), and the 46th in the city of Toronto. The Argonauts defeated the Stampeders 35–22 to win their 16th Grey Cup title. This was the third meeting between Calgary and Toronto for the Grey Cup championship and the first since the 79th Grey Cup in 1991. Richmond is a coastal city in the Lower Mainland region of British Columbia, Canada.
