BBQ Pitmasters
''BBQ Pitmasters'' is an American reality television series which follows barbecue cooks as they compete for cash and prizes in barbecue cooking competitions. The series premiered on TLC on December 3, 2009. The eight-episode first season was filmed in a docu-reality format as it followed several competing BBQ teams around the country to various BBQ contests. Season two premiered on August 12, 2010 at 10 pm EDT featuring a completely new competition game show-based format. Each week, four teams competed against each other. Challenges included common protein and more exotic meat. Weekly winners faced off against each other in the second-season finale as they vied for $100,000 and the Kingsford Cup. Melissa Cookston is an American chef and author. She is the chef/owner of two restaurants, the author of two cookbooks, and a seven-time world American barbecue champion. In addition, Cookston has twice won top prize at the Memphis in May American Barbecue World Championship and is the only female American barbecue world champion. Life Cookston was born in Ruleville, Mississippi in 1968. She grew up in Greenville, Mississippi and Pontotoc, Mississippi. Career Melissa worked in food preparation for years. George "Tuffy" Stone (born 1962/1963) is an American chef and competitor on the competitive barbecue circuit. He has appeared on the Destination America reality television show ''BBQ Pitmasters''. He runs the team "Cool Smoke" and founded a barbecue restaurant chain called "Q Barbeque". His nickname is "The Professor". Johnny Trigg
Johnny Trigg (born 1938) from Alvarado, Texas is an American celebrity chef and competitor on the competitive barbecue circuit. He is a two time Grand Champion of the Jack Daniels World Championship Invitational, and has appeared on TLC reality television show ''BBQ Pitmasters''. Career Johnny graduated from Cisco High School in Cisco, Texas, and afterwards went to the University of North Texas. Trigg worked for Fireman's Fund Insurance Company in San Francisco as an insurance executive, and retired in December 1996. Mineral Wells, Texas
Mineral Wells is a city in Palo Pinto and Parker Counties in the U.S. state of Texas. The population was 16,788 at the 2010 census (14,644 in Palo Pinto and 2144 in Parker).
