BBC Brit
BBC Brit is an entertainment subscription television channel featuring factual entertainment programming. The channel is wholly owned and operated by BBC Studios. Originally set to roll out internationally in 2014, it was later announced it would launch in 2015, starting in Poland. History In October 2013, BBC announced that in 2014 they would roll out three new brands – BBC Earth, BBC First, and BBC Brit, with BBC Brit to be dedicated to entertainment programming. It was later announced that the content would largely be factual entertainment, featuring BBC series ''Top Gear'' with the possibility for increases in local adaptions of the series. Other series are to include ''Room 101'' and ''Mock the Week''. It was also announced that roughly 50 hours, or roughly 5 series, of new content would be ordered for the new channel. 576i is a standard-definition television, standard-definition digital video mode, originally used for digitizing analog television in most countries of the world where the utility frequency for electric power distribution is 50 Hz. Because of its close association with the legacy color encoding systems, it is often referred to as PAL, PAL/SECAM or SECAM when compared to its 60 Hz (typically, see PAL-M) NTSC-colour-encoded counterpart, 480i. Room 101 (British TV Series)
''Room 101'' is a BBC comedy television series based on the radio series of the same name, in which celebrities are invited to discuss their pet hates and persuade the host to consign those hates to oblivion in Room 101, a location whose name was inspired by the torture room in George Orwell's 1949 novel ''Nineteen Eighty-Four'' which reputedly contained "the worst thing in the world". Orwell himself named it after a meeting room in Broadcasting House where he would sit through tedious meetings. It was produced independently for the BBC by Hat Trick Productions. Nick Hancock hosted the first three series of the show from 1994 until 1997. He was succeeded by Paul Merton, who hosted the show from 1999 till the show's original run came to an end in 2007. BBC iPlayer (stylised as iPLAYER or BBC iPLAYER) is a video on demand service from the BBC. The service is available on a wide range of devices, including mobile phones and tablets, personal computers and smart televisions. iPlayer services delivered to UK-based viewers feature no commercial advertising. The terms BBC iPlayer, iPlayer, and BBC Media Player refer to various methods of viewing or listening to the same content. BBC Player is an authenticated multi-genre subscription video on demand service operated by BBC Studios, formerly BBC Worldwide, for the Asia market. It is available online and as an app. The service debuted in Singapore in summer 2016 to StarHub subscribers, in Malaysia in March 2017 with Telekom Malaysia, and in Poland in June 2022 with Canal+. Video on demand (VOD) is a media distribution system that allows users to access videos without a traditional video playback device and the constraints of a typical static broadcasting schedule. Fetch TV is an Australian IPTV provider that delivers a subscription television service over a user's regular internet service. Fetch TV launched in 2010 backed by its Malaysian parent Astro Malaysia Holdings. On 2 August 2022, Telstra acquired a 51% stake in the company. Fetch TV provides a set top box with a digital TV tuner, personal video recorder and up to 45 subscription channels, video on demand, pay per view movies, web applications, and a mobile app. The service is delivered by HLS adaptive bitrate streaming.
