Bato (see alternatives below) is an Illyrian language, Illyrian name. History Bato is one of the most characteristic Illyrian names. It appears both as a male (Bato, Batas, Baton, Batun) and a female (Bateia, Batuia, Batea) name. It is attested from the southern Illyrian to the northern Illyrian (Delmato-Pannonian) region. Outside Illyria, it is found among Roman Illyrians soldiers from the Balkans in Europe, the Illyrian community in Alburnus Maior (Dacia), the Iapygians, Iapygian lands of southern Italy and the wider Hellenistic Mediterranean. Bato, officially the Municipality of Bato (Rinconada Bikol: ''Banwāan ka Bato''; Tagalog: ''Bayan ng Bato''), is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Camarines Sur, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 52,155 people. The municipality of Bato, like Buhi town, is home to a lake teeming with various kinds of fishes. Sinarapan, the world's smallest commercially harvested fish, occupies the waters of Lake Bato. Also present, the lake abounds with tilapia housed in fish cages. Bato is from Pili and from Manila. ''Bato, Bato'' is the third studio album by Yugoslav pop-folk singer Lepa Brena and her band Slatki Greh. It was released 5 January 1984 through the record label PGP-RTB and with over a million copies sold it is one of the best-selling albums in the history of Yugoslavia and made Lepa Brena a superstar outside of her home-country, especially in Bulgaria and Romania. This was her fourth of twelve albums with Slatki Greh. Background This album marked the end of cooperation with their former manager, Milutin Popović Zachar, and the beginning of the golden career period of Lepa Brena, with new manager Raka Đokić. Lake Bato is a freshwater lake and the 7th largest in the Philippines. It is located in the town of Bato, approximately southwest of Iriga City, Camarines Sur Province, southeastern Luzon, Philippines. It has extensive marshes and swamp forests. Bato, officially the Municipality of Bato, is a 5th class municipality in the province of Catanduanes, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 21,748 people. Etymology The Spanish colonizers, who surveyed the early settlers of the area, recorded the name "Bato" and later this became the town's name. Bato (ruled c. 206 – 176 BC) was an Illyrian king of the Dardanian State. Bato was the son of Longarus whom he succeeded and the brother of Monunius II who ruled after him. Bato fought alongside the Romans against Macedon during the Second Macedonian War. Bato is known for using advanced war tactics against Athenagoras. Bato became a major threat to the Macedonians but after the war was over Dardanian and Roman relations soon diminished. Military activities When the Romans returned to Illyria in 200 BC under the experienced commander P. Sulpicius Galba, they expected support from their former allies.
