Bytyqi Brothers
Bytyçi () or Bytyqi, Bityçi and Bitiçi refers to an Albanian tribe or ''fis'' centred in the southeastern Highlands of Gjakova. The surname derived from the tribe is found throughout Albania and Kosovo. Geography The Bytyçi tribe are situated in the southeastern parts of the Highlands of Gjakova, an ethnographic region in north-east Albania and western Kosovo. Bytyçi tribal territory borders Gashi in the northwest over the Luzha Pass ( sq, Qafa e Luzhës), Krasniqi in the west and Hasi in the south. Beyond the Prush Pass ( sq, Qafa e Prushit), east of Bytyçi, is the town of Gjakova. Traditional Bytyçi tribal territory also includes the high mountain pastures of Sylbica, nowadays shared by Kosovo and Albania. The Albanian tribes ( sq, fiset shqiptare) form a historical mode of social organization (''farefisní'') in Albania and the southwestern Balkans characterized by a common culture, often common patrilineal kinship ties tracing back to one progenitor and shared social ties. The ''fis'' ( sq-definite, fisi; commonly translated as "tribe", also as "clan" or "kin" community) stands at the center of Albanian organization based on kinship relations, a concept which can be found among southern Albanians also with the term ''farë'' ( sq-definite, fara). Johann Georg Von Hahn
Johann Georg von Hahn (11 July 1811 – 23 September 1869) was an Austrian Empire, Austrian and later Austria-Hungary, Austro-Hungarian diplomat, Philology, philologist and specialist in History of Albania, Albanian history, Albanian language, language and Culture of Albania, culture. Hahn was born in Frankfurt am Main. In 1847, he was named Austrian consul in Ioannina, today in Greece. He was transferred to the Hellenic Kingdom on the island of Syros in 1851, and from 1869 was the consul-general in Athens. He is considered the founder of Albanology, Albanian studies. Death Of The Bytyqi Brothers
The Bytyqi brothers were American-Kosovo Albanian members of the Kosovo Liberation Army who were killed by Serbian Police shortly after the end of the Kosovo War, while they were in custody in Petrovo Selo, Kladovo, Serbia. The bodies of the three brothers were discovered in July 2001 in a mass grave containing 70 Albanians, near Special Anti–Terrorist Unit (SAJ) training facility. The bodies were found with their hands bound and with gunshot wounds to their heads. The indictment against the alleged perpetrators says the brothers were brought to the edge of the pit and shot in the head, causing them to slump into a mass grave atop 70 corpses dumped there earlier. Zymer Bytyqi (born 11 September 1996) is a professional footballer who plays as a winger for Konyaspor. He previously played for Sandnes Ulf and Red Bull Salzburg, and became the youngest player that has ever played in the Norwegian top league when he made his first-team debut in 2012 (the record has since been broken by Martin Ødegaard). Sinan Bytyqi (born 15 January 1995) is a Kosovan professional football manager and former player who is the manager of Unterliga Ost club Weiz II. Hysen Bytyqi (* 5. October 1968 in Prishtina) is a Kosovo agricultural scientist who introduced animal breeding to Kosovo. Fabiana Bytyqi (, born 30 December 1995) is a Czech professional boxer of Kosovan descent. She has held the WBC female atomweight title since 2018. Enis Bytyqi (born 18 February 1997) is a Kosovan professional footballer who plays as a forward. Having made four appearances for the Germany U18 team, he represented Kosovo at U21 level.
