Byron Mouton
Byron King Mouton (born April 29, 1978) is an American retired basketball player. He was a starter on the University of Maryland's 2002 national championship team and played professionally in several countries. College career Mouton, a 6'6" swingman from Rayne, Louisiana, originally committed to play basketball at the University of Kentucky, but opted out of his commitment after Wildcats coach Rick Pitino left to coach the Boston Celtics in 1997. Instead, he opted for Tulane. After two seasons at Tulane, Mouton transferred to Maryland to play for coach Gary Williams. In his junior year of 2000–01, Mouton started and averaged 9.6 points and 4.0 rebounds per game as the Terrapins advanced to the Final Four of the 2001 NCAA tournament. As a senior in 2001–02, Mouton upped his averages to 11.1 points and 5.0 rebounds per game as Maryland won the 2002 NCAA championship. Rayne High School
Rayne High School is located in Rayne, Louisiana, United States. The school is a part of the Acadia Parish School Board. Its mascot is the Mighty Wolves, and it has the largest enrollment of any school in the parish. The current high school building was opened in 1938 at a cost of $112,071.50 and initially enrolled grades 8–11. Designed by the architecture firm of Baron and Roberts, it was funded by the Public Works Administration. Previously, all grades had been taught at the current location of Central Rayne Kindergarten, first in a wooden building built in 1888, then in a brick building erected in 1912. Gary Williams
Gary Bruce Williams (born March 4, 1945) is an American university administrator and former college basketball coach. He served as the head coach at the University of Maryland, the Ohio State University, Boston College, and American University. In 2002, he led Maryland to win the NCAA tournament championship. Williams retired after the 2010–11 season, and is now a college basketball analyst for the Big Ten Network. Playing career Williams played for Maryland as the starting point guard under coach Bud Millikan. He was a member of the 1966 Charlotte Invitational Tournament championship team and the 1965 Sugar Bowl Tournament championship team. The Washington GreenHawks were a team of the Atlantic Coast Professional Basketball League (ACPBL) based in Washington, D.C. As the Maryland Nighthawks they were formerly part of the American Basketball Association (ABA) and a founding member of the Premier Basketball League (PBL), in which they later played as the Maryland GreenHawks. The Wilmington Sea Dawgs are a professional basketball team and founding member of the Tobacco Road Basketball League. The team is based in Wilmington, North Carolina, and began play in 2006 as a member of the American Basketball Association. The team later played as a founding member of the Premier Basketball League and a founding member of the Continental Basketball League. The American Basketball Association (ABA) is an American semi-professional men's basketball minor league that was founded in 1999. The ABA has teams based in the United States and previously had international teams based in Canada and Mexico. In the past, there were traveling teams from countries such as Australia and Japan who played in the ABA. Additionally, there were players from other countries that were on a U.S. team to showcase other talented athletes in the country. The NBA G League, or simply the G League, is the National Basketball Association's (NBA) official List of developmental and minor sports leagues, minor league basketball organization. The league was known as the National Basketball Development League (NBDL) from 2001 to 2005, and the NBA Development League (NBA D-League) from 2005 until 2017.
