Butters Stotch
Leopold "Butters" Stotch is a fictional character in the adult animated television series ''South Park''. He is loosely based on co-producer Eric Stough and his voice is provided by co-creator Matt Stone. He is a student at South Park Elementary School. Butters is depicted as more naive, optimistic, and gullible than the show's other child characters and can become increasingly anxious, especially when faced with the likelihood of being grounded, of which he is extremely terrified. As a result, he is often sheltered and unknowledgeable of some of the suggestive content his peers understand, and is also frequently bullied by Eric Cartman. Grounding is a general discipline technique throughout the Western world, particularly in the Anglosphere of the United States and Canada, and other countries heavily inline with American mass media which restricts children or teenagers at home from going out or pursuing their favorite activities, except for any obligations. Moreover, any positive reinforcement and other privileges are often revoked. Grounding is used as an alternative to physical discipline, e.g., spanking, for behavior management in the home. "Awesom-O" is the fifth episode in the eighth season of the American animated television series ''South Park''. The 116th episode overall, the second in production order of Season 8 instead of the fifth, it originally aired on Comedy Central in the United States on April 14, 2004.
