Kofi Abrefa Busia
Kofi Abrefa Busia (born 11 July 1913 – 28 August 1978) was a Ghanaian political leader and academic who was Prime Minister of Ghana from 1969 to 1972. As a nationalist leader and prime minister, he helped to restore civilian government to the country following military rule. Early life and education Busia was born a Bono prince in the traditional kingdom of Wenchi, in the Brong Ahafo Region, one of the four Gold Coast Territories, then under British rule and now called Ghana. He was educated at Methodist School, Wenchi, Mfantsipim School, Cape Coast, then at Wesley College, Kumasi, from 1931 to 1932. He taught at Wesley College and left to study at Achimota College in 1935 and taught there. He gained his first degree with Honours in Medieval and Modern History from the University of London, through correspondence during this period. Gibson Dokyi Ampaw
Gibson Dokyi Ampaw (born 25 September 1929, date of death unknown) was a Ghanaian lawyer and politician. He was a minister of state in the second republic. Early life and education Ampaw was born on 26 September 1929 at Kukurantumi, East Akim District in the Eastern Region. He had his secondary education at Abuakwa State College, Kibi. He attended Fourah Bay College, Sierra Leone and the University of London, London where he was called to the bar at Lincoln's Inn. Career Ampaw began his career as a teacher at his alma mater Abuakwa State College. He was later appointed secretary of the Akyem Abuakwa State Council, and also taught at Wilberforce Memorial. He ventured into legal practice for eleven years as a barrister-at-law. Haruna Esseku
Harona Esseku (8 August 1934 – 3 August 2022) was a Ghanaian politician, a minister of state in the second republic and a founding member of the New Patriotic Party. Early years and education Harona Esseku was born in Krobonshie, Senya Beraku, in the Central Region. He had his primary education at Senya Beraku Oma School from 1941 to 1949 and went on to the Accra Academy, where he obtained his Cambridge school certificate in 1953. He attended the Kumasi College of Technology from 1954 to 1955. He taught chemistry and geography at his alma mater, Accra Academy after Kumasi and in 1958 he worked as a higher executive officer in the office of the Government Statistician. William Godson Bruce-Konuah (14 May 1932 – 2 October 2002) was a Ghanaian physician, politician and a minister of state in the Second Republic. Early years and education He was born on 14 May 1932. His father was Dr. Kofi George Konuah, ; an educationist. He had his early education at the Accra Government boys' school from 1936 to 1945 and proceeded to the Accra Academy where he had his secondary education from 1946 to 1951. Jatoe Kaleo
Jatoe Kaleo (1928–1998) was a Ghanaian traditional ruler, politician and founding member of the Northern Peoples Party. Early life and education Jatoe Kaleo was born in July 1928 at Kaleo a Village in the Nadowli District of the Upper West Region of Ghana. He was educated at the Native Authority Primary Boarding School, at Wa in the Upper West Region of Ghana from 1935 to 1941. He continued his education in 1942 at Tamale Government Middle Boarding School where he completed in 1945. Career In 1946 he was appointed Assistant Treasurer of the Wa Native Authority. Richard Abusua-Yedom Quarshie
Richard Kweku Abusua-Yedom Quarshie was a businessman, a Ghanaian diplomat and politician. He was the minister of state in the second republic. Early life and education Richard was born on 6 March 1918, in Ewusiadjo near Dixcove in the Western Region. He went to secondary school at Achimota School. Quarshie was trained as a Barrister at Lincoln's Inn, London. Career Quarshie entered the Civil Service in 1940 and became a Labor Officer in 1945. In 1956, he was employed by the Foreign Service. In 1963, he was the Sub-director and Resident Director of the Consolidated African Selection Trust Ltd. (CAST), which operates in diamond mining. Reginald Reynolds Amponsah
Reginald Reynolds Amponsah (30 December 1919 – 3 June 2009) was a potter and Ghanaian politician of the first Parliament of the Second Republic representing the Mampong North Constituency in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. He was a Minister of State in the Busia government. Education Amponsah completed his secondary education at the Achimota School in 1942. He was the school prefect for his year. Among his mates there were Victor Owusu, K. B. Asante, and Silas Dodu. He was awarded a scholarship to study pottery at Stoke on Trent in the United Kingdom.
