Burford () is a town on the River Windrush, in the Cotswolds, Cotswold hills, in the West Oxfordshire district of Oxfordshire, England. It is often referred to as the 'gateway' to the Cotswolds. Burford is located west of Oxford and southeast of Cheltenham, about from the Gloucestershire boundary. The Toponymy, toponym derives from the Old English words ''burh'' meaning fortified town or hilltown and ''ford (crossing), ford'', the crossing of a river. The United Kingdom Census 2011, 2011 Census recorded the population of Burford parish as 1,422. Burford, Ontario
Burford is a rural community and is part of the County of Brant, in central southwestern Ontario. It has 1,058 residents (2021 Census). It is located eight kilometres west of the City of Brantford along Highway 53, and seventy kilometres east of London, Ontario. It is approximately 100 km southwest of Toronto. Administrative offices for the County of Brant are located in Burford, making it one of three service hubs for the county (the others being Paris and St. George). Amongst designated heritage properties in the area is the former Burford Armoury, built in 1906, which was important for military training in earlier days when Canada had an active militia force in each county (the role now served by the Canadian Forces Reserves). Burford, Shropshire
Burford is a village and civil parish in Shropshire, England. According to the 2001 census the parish had a population of 1,108, rising to 1,392 at the 2011 Census. Location The parish is situated to the north of the River Teme, on the other side of the Teme is the Worcestershire town of Tenbury Wells. To the west, the A456 road bridges Ledwyche Brook, leading to the Herefordshire village of Little Hereford. To the northeast is the Shropshire village and parish of Boraston. Amenities Burford House Gardens is a popular destination and is located in the southwest of the parish, where the Ledwyche meets the Teme. Even though Burford has never been in Herefordshire or Worcestershire, the fire station is run by the Hereford and Worcester Fire Service and the Tenbury Community Hospital is run by the Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust.
