Bulgaria
Bulgaria (; bg, България, Bǎlgariya), officially the Republic of Bulgaria,, ) is a country in Southeast Europe. It is situated on the eastern flank of the Balkans, and is bordered by Romania to the north, Serbia and North Macedonia to the west, Greece and Turkey to the south, and the Black Sea to the east. Stefan Danailov
Stefan Lambov Danailov ( bg, Стефан Ламбов Данаилов; 9 December 1942 – 27 November 2019) was a Bulgarian actor who served as Minister of Culture of Bulgaria (August 2005 – July 2009). The first film Danailov took part in was ''The Traces Remain'' (') when he was a child. At that time he did not want to be an actor but in 1966, he graduated from VITIZ (the Bulgarian Theatre Academy). His best-known work was as Major Deyanov in the series ' (''At Each Kilometer''). He participated in numerous films and plays for which he won a lot of prizes. For 20 years he was a professor at the Theatre Academy in Sofia, teaching there since 1988. On 2 december 2019, The Bulgarian National Theater organized the biggest memorial service in Stefan Danailov's name. Locarno International Film Festival
The Locarno Film Festival is an annual film festival, held every August in Locarno, Switzerland. Founded in 1946, the festival screens films in various competitive and non-competitive sections, including feature-length narrative, documentary, short, avant-garde, and retrospective programs. The Piazza Grande section is held in an open-air venue that seats 8,000 spectators. The top prize of the festival is the Golden Leopard, awarded to the best film in the International Competition. Other awards include the Leopard of Honour for career achievement, and the Prix du Public, the public choice award. Kosta Tsonev
Kosta Tsonev ( bg, Коста Цонев; 10 June 1929 – 25 January 2012) was a Bulgarian actor starring in theatre, TV and cinema. He was born on 10 June 1929 in the capital of Bulgaria, Sofia. He studied at the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts. He has been married three times: twice to Anahid Tacheva and then to his present wife Elena. He has a son, famed news reader Dimitar Tsonev, and a daughter. His second oldest brother was the late Vasil Tsonev, a dry witted satirist who wrote many books which have been published in several languages. His oldest brother was the late Iwan Tsonev (Iwan Zoneff) who moved to Australia in 1950s where he became one of the biggest property developers in South Australia during the mid 60's showing the diverse talents of the 3 brothers in each of their chosen fields. Konstantin Kotsev ( bg, Константин Коцев; June 4, 1926 – August 4, 2007) was a Bulgarian stage and film actor. Kotsev was amid the most popular Bulgarian actors from the last decades of 20th century. He is best known for his roles in classic Bulgarian films such as ''The Tied Up Balloon'' (1967), '' The Swedish Kings'' (1968), ''The white room'' (1968), '' Naked Conscience'' (1971), '' Toplo / Warmth'' (1978), ''Time of Violence'' (1988), as well as his numerous notable performances on the stage. Nikola Todev
Nikola Todev ( bg, Никола Тодев, ; 13 June 1928 – 30 March 1991) was a Bulgarians, Bulgarian theater and film actor. Todev is best known with his performances of characteristict types most notably the village mayor in ''The Hare Census (film), The Hare Census'' (1973), Kara Kolyo in ''Manly Times'' (1977) and the uncle in ''Ladies' Choice (film), Ladies Choice'' (1980). Biography and Career Todev was born on 13 June 1928 in the town of Devin, Bulgaria, Devin, Smolyan Province. He started acting on the stage of Smolyan theater in 1952. Later he moved to Pazardzhik continuing to work in the local theater. Nikola Korabov ( bg, Никола Корабов, 7 December 1928 – 10 November 2016) was a Bulgarian film director and screenwriter. He directed thirteen films between 1956 and 1999.
