Bugs Bunny
Bugs Bunny is an animated cartoon character created in the late 1930s by Leon Schlesinger Productions (later Warner Bros. Cartoons) and voiced originally by Mel Blanc. Bugs is best known for his starring roles in the '' Looney Tunes'' and '' Merrie Melodies'' series of animated short films, produced by Warner Bros. Though an early iteration of the character first appeared in the WB cartoon ''Porky's Hare Hunt'' (1938) and a few subsequent shorts, the definitive characterization of Bugs Bunny is widely credited to have debuted in Tex Avery's Oscar-nominated film ''A Wild Hare'' (1940). Bob Givens is credited for Bugs' initial character design, though Robert McKimson is credited for what became Bugs' definitive design just a few years later. Bugs is an anthropomorphic gray and white rabbit or hare who is famous for his flippant, insouciant personality. He is also characterized by a Brooklyn accent, his portrayal as a trickster, and his catch phrase "Eh...What's up, doc?". Due ...

The special was rereleased on DVD as part of the ''Looney Tunes Holiday Triple Feature'' on September 1, 2020. Plot As the film's title implies, Daffy Duck stars in an Ebenezer Scrooge-like role in the Looney Tunes retelling of this classic tale. In the beginning of the movie, Bugs Bunny (in a Fred-like role) pops up out of his hole to clear away the snow and explains to the audience he's all about winter holidays, despite the fact that rabbits are traditionally associated with Easter. He's then almost run ...

Bedevilled Rabbit
''Bedevilled Rabbit'' is a 1957 Warner Bros. ''Merrie Melodies'' short directed by Robert McKimson. The short was released on April 13, 1957, and stars Bugs Bunny. In this cartoon, Bugs is lost in Tasmania, and has to deal with the Tasmanian Devil. Plot After a box of carrots is dropped into the middle of a jungle in Tasmania, Bugs pops out, wondering how he went from sleeping in a carrot patch to the middle of Tasmania. Suddenly, a group of animals (both wild and domesticated) come running through the woods, scared for their lives (Bugs mistakes it for "chow time at the zoo"). A crocodile (who turns himself inside out into a bag for a disguise) hands Bugs a booklet talking about the Tasmanian devil and the many things it eats. Bugs reads: "Beware of the Tasmanian Devil, a vicious, ravenous brute with powerful jaws like a steel trap. Eats aardvarks, ants, bears, boars, cats, bats, dogs, hogs, elephants, antelopes, pheasants, ferrets, giraffes, gazelles..." Bugs snarks, "A likely ...

Trip For Tat
''Trip For Tat'' is a 1960 Merrie Melodies animated short starring Looney Tunes characters Sylvester, Tweety, and Granny. Summary Although it contains a new plot, wherein Granny and Tweety travel to various locations (Paris, Swiss Alps, Japan, and Italy) while Sylvester tries to catch Tweety in every one, the cartoon is mostly made up of footage from previous cartoons. Here are the cartoons which the short borrows animation from, in order of appearance: * ''Tweety's S.O.S.'' (1951): The entire boat sequence where Tweety tricked Sylvester into getting seasick and the piece of pork, further inducing the malady. * '' Tree Cornered Tweety'' (1956): the following two: - In the Alps, the sequence where Sylvester tries to catch Tweety (wearing spoons for snowshoes) on skis, but then crashed into a tree. - In Japan, The sequence where Sylvester is chasing Tweety right to the bridge scene, but when he sawed open a hole, he and the cut floorboard fall down from a great height and into ...

Canned Feud
''Canned Feud'' is a 1951 Warner Bros. '' Looney Tunes'' animated short directed by Friz Freleng. The short was released on February 3, 1951, and stars Sylvester. Plot Sylvester's owners, Sam and Violet, go on vacation to California, forgetting to put him outside. Sylvester abruptly notices this, finding that he is locked inside an empty house, devoid of food and with no milk being delivered for two weeks. He finds a cupboard full of canned tuna and cat food, but discovers that he also needs a can opener. He seemingly cannot find one, until he sees a mouse with it. Sylvester begs for the mouse to give it to him, but he throws it into his hole. Sylvester frantically tries and fails to retrieve it, and the mouse saunters away. Furious, Sylvester angrily gives chase to the mouse and crashes into the mouse hole. Sylvester tries vainly to open a can of tuna by beating it against the floor and jumping on it. Freudy Cat
''Freudy Cat'' is a 1964 Warner Bros. ''Looney Tunes'' animated short directed by Robert McKimson. The short was released on March 14, 1964, and stars Sylvester the Cat, Sylvester Jr. and Hippety Hopper. A paranoid Sylvester flashes back to earlier cartoons such as '' Who's Kitten Who?'', '' Cats A-Weigh!'', and ''The Slap-Hoppy Mouse'' while describing to a psychiatrist that he thinks Hippety Hopper is out to get him. Soundtrack Anomaly The cartoon is unusual in that it mixes a new soundtrack by Bill Lava with music by Carl Stalling (while alive in 1964, he had retired six years earlier), which is heard during the original shorts that make up this cartoon. That results in a schizophrenic soundtrack (whether this was intentional, given the plot of a mentally unbalanced Sylvester visiting a psychiatrist, isn't known, but it is possible). Even more unusual is that certain prints of the cartoon contain stock music pieces by Philip Green that play over numerous areas of the cartoon w ...
