''Buddy Richard en el Astor'' ( en, Buddy Richard at the Astor) is a live album by Chilean singer Buddy Richard. The album was recorded in late 1969 at the Teatro Astor (Astor Theatre) in Santiago with collaborations by the Orchestra of Horacio Saavedra. ''Buddy Richard en el Astor'' was the first live album ever recorded and released by a Chilean artist. The album was ranked 12th in the Rolling Stone's ''Los 50 Mejores Albumes Chilenos'' (Best 50 Chilean albums) list. Background, recording and release The late 1960s were a successful time for Buddy Richard, a singer from Graneros, whose professional career started earlier that decade. Ricardo Roberto Toro Lavín, also known as Buddy Richard (September 21, 1943, Graneros) is a Chilean singer-songwriter known for his ballads. He began performing as part of the " Nueva ola" ("New wave"). He first recorded in 1962, recording his own songs and singing in Spanish. He signed to Caracol and released his first single, ''Balada de la tristeza'', which became a hit in the summer of 1963. The following year he signed with Arena and released his most well-known songs, ''Cielo'' (as a way to say "Honey", a cover of the Bobby Hebb song '' Sunny''), ''Despídete con un beso'' ("Say goodbye with a kiss") and ''Si me vas a abandonar'' ("If you are going to leave me"). "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" is a 1967 song written by Bob Crewe and Bob Gaudio. It was recorded as a single by Frankie Valli. Procol Harum () were an English rock music, rock band formed in Southend-on-Sea, Essex in 1967. Al Stillman ''(né'' Albert Irving Silverman; 26 June 1901 Manhattan, New York – 17 February 1979 Manhattan, New York) was an American lyricist. Biography Stillman was born to Jewish parents Herman Silverman and Gertrude Rubin ''(maiden).'' He adopted the name "Albert Stillman" as a professional pseudonym. He chose the name, reportedly, because it was the recognizable surname of a well-known New York banking family. He was Jewish. He attended New York University.
