Brushy Peak
Brushy Peak, also known as Brushy Knob or Las Cuevas (The Caves), is a summit in Alameda County, California that overlooks the Livermore Valley. North of the valley, it is part of the Diablo Range. It rises to an elevation of and is the location of Brushy Peak Regional Preserve; there are guided tours to the peak itself. Historically, the peak and its immediate surroundings were used for some outdoor events, like picnics. Diablo Range
The Diablo Range is a mountain range in the California Coast Ranges subdivision of the Pacific Coast Ranges in northern California, United States. It stretches from the eastern San Francisco Bay area at its northern end to the Salinas Valley area at its southern end. Geography The Diablo Range extends from the Carquinez Strait in the north to Orchard Peak and Polonio Pass in the south, near the point where State Route 46 crosses over the Coast Ranges at Cholame, as described by the United States Geological Survey (USGS). It is bordered on the northeast by the San Joaquin River, on the southeast by the San Joaquin Valley, on the southwest by the Salinas River, and on the northwest by the Santa Clara Valley. Livermore Valley
The Livermore Valley, historically known as the Valle de San José (Valley of San José), is a valley in Alameda County, California, located in the East Bay region. The city of Livermore is located in the valley. Geography The valley is bounded by the Diablo Range on the north, east, and south; and is linked to the west with the Amador Valley. Watercourses draining the Livermore Valley include Arroyo Mocho, Arroyo Valle, Arroyo Seco, and Arroyo Las Positas. Wine Country The southern side of Livermore is wine country. Brushy Peak Regional Preserve
Brushy Peak Regional Preserve is a regional park that is part of the East Bay Regional Park District, East Bay Regional Parks (EBRPD) and the Livermore Area Recreation and Park District (LARPD) systems. It is located in unincorporated land in Alameda County, just north of Livermore, California. Geography Entering the Park The preserve's southern boundary is across the street from Springtown, a section of Livermore that is north of the I-580. You can reach the park from Livermore by taking Vasco Road into Springtown, turning right onto Northfront Road (Altamont Pass Road), and then turning left onto Laughlin Road. As you drive north along Laughlin Road, you can see Brushy Peak Preserve on the right and housing developments to the left.
