Brun Bitter
''Brun bitter'' ( en, Brown bitter}), also called ''Hair of the Dog'', is a 1988 Norwegian crime film directed by Sølve Skagen, starring Frank Krog, Kristin Kajander and Anne Krigsvoll. The screenplay is also by Skagen, based on the book ''Din, til døden'', by Gunnar Staalesen. The story is typical of a ''film noir'', with the detective Alexander 'Lex' Larsen (Krog) attempting to clear the ''femme fatale'' Vigdis Wang (Kajander) of a charge of murder. Sølve Skagen (born 17 February 1945) is a Norwegian film director. He was born in Eid, Sogn og Fjordane, and is related to Kaj Skagen. Among his films are '' Hard asfalt'' from 1986 and '' Brun bitter'' from 1988. Gunnar Staalesen
Gunnar Staalesen (born 19 October 1947) is a Norwegian writer. He is a major figure in the Nordic noir crime fiction genre through his 19 novels featuring Varg Veum, a private detective in Bergen on the rainy west coast of Norway. The Varg Veum series has been praised as one of the best in modern crime fiction, and Staalesen has sold more than 5 million books in 26 countries. Staalesen is also a screenwriter and a playwright who has worked extensively with Den Nationale Scene, the largest theatre in Bergen. Early life Staalesen was born in Bergen, where he has lived his entire life. His parents were an educator and a nurse, and he grew up mostly in the Nordnes neighborhood. Frank Krog
Hallgeir Frank Krog (5 October 1954 – 23 December 2008) was a Norwegian actor. Krog was born in Bergen. He started his career as a stage worker and extra at the theatre Den Nasjonale Scene, but later attended the Norwegian National Academy of Theatre. He appeared in several Norwegian films, mostly during the 1990s. He also became known for his role in the television series Offshore. Krog was found dead in his Grünerløkka home on 23 December 2008. Anne Katharine Krigsvoll (born 4 February 1957) is a Norwegian actress. She debuted at Nationaltheatret (the National Theatre) in 1982, and has worked there since. Here she has had roles such as "Shui Ta" in Brecht's ''The Good Person of Sezuan'', and "Dorine" in Molière's ''Tartuffe''. In 2002 she also had great success as "Martha" in Edward Albee's ''Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?''. Crime films, in the broadest sense, is a film genre inspired by and analogous to the crime fiction literary genre. Films of this genre generally involve various aspects of crime and its detection.
