Bruce Reid
Bruce Anthony Reid (born 14 March 1963) is a former Australian international cricketer. A tall left-arm fast-medium bowler, Reid also played domestically for his home state Western Australia. Domestic career Reid played for Western Australia in the Sheffield Shield from 1984–85 to 1995–96. International career Reid represented Australia in Test cricket between December 1985 and December 1992 and in One Day Internationals between January 1986 and March 1992. He played 27 Test matches for Australia taking 113 Test wickets at an average of 24.63 runs per wicket. He also played 61 ODIs, taking 63 wickets. Reid bowled left-arm fast-medium and had natural swing and an awkward angle of delivery. He achieved steepling bounce from his great height and was very accurate. Reid made his debut against India in January 1986. He was a mainstay of the Australian bowling attack from that time on. Bruce Reid (politician)
Nicholas Bruce Reid (30 July 1935 – 24 May 2020) was an Australian politician. Born in Bendigo, Victoria (Australia), Victoria, he served in the military in 1958 and then became a retailer. In 1976, he was elected to the Victorian Legislative Council as the Liberal Party of Australia (Victorian Division), Liberal member for Bendigo Province. He remained in the Legislative Council until 1988. In 1990, he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Liberal member for the federal seat of Division of Bendigo, Bendigo, defeating John Brumby. After the Liberals lost the 1993 federal election he contested the Liberal leadership with John Howard and John Hewson, but received only one vote. He held the seat of Bendigo until his retirement in 1998. Bruce Reid (doctor)
Bruce Malcolm Reid (4 April 1946 – 27 October 2020) was an Australian doctor and former Australian rules footballer. He was the senior medical officer at the Essendon Football Club and played for Hawthorn in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Early life and career Reid, who originally played football for the North Balwyn Methodists, played two senior games for Hawthorn in the 1966 VFL season and one further game the following year. Reid was a member of Preston's 1968 and 1969 Victorian Football Association premiership teams. Having graduated from university with a medical degree while at Preston, Reid worked as a club doctor with Richmond from 1976 to 1979. Essendon Football Club Reid joined Essendon Football club in 1982 shortly after Kevin Sheedy, a player at Richmond, had joined as coach.
