British Academy Children's Award For International
The British Academy Children and Young People Award for International is an award presented annually by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). It is given to "television and online content where the editorial and creative control resides outside of the UK". It was first presented at the 3rd British Academy Children's Awards in 1998, with Australian science-fiction television series ''Ocean Girl'' being the first recipient of the award. In 2018, three international categories were presented (Animation, Live-Action, Pre-School), while in 2019, two of the three were awarded (Animation and Live-Action). In 2022, the category returned to be only one category for international productions. Out of the twenty-six winners, eighteen have been animated programs while eight have been live-action series. Mitchell Kriegman
Mitchell Kriegman (born June 4, 1952) is an American television writer, director, producer, consultant, story editor, author, composer and actor. He is the creator of ''Clarissa Explains It All'' (1991) for Nickelodeon, ''Bear in the Big Blue House'' (1997) and ''The Book of Pooh'' (2001) for Disney Channel and ''It's a Big Big World'' (2006) for PBS. Kriegman holds patents for a method of hybrid animation, known as Shadowmation, which combines high-definition virtual-environments with puppets and animatronics, composited and rendered in real time. ''Pablo the Little Red Fox'' is a British-French pre-school children's animated series which originally ran from 28 September 1999 to 2000 on BBC One and BBC Two (part of CBBC). The hero is a little red fox called Pablo and his siblings called Pumpkin and Poppy, their parents, Red Fox and Rose, their friends, a dog named Baxter, a hedgehog named Helena, a cat named Finbar, a frog called Fromage, a seagull called Gil and an owl named Madam Owl.
