Brille Records is an independent record label based in the UK, which has released work from bands including Whirlwind Heat, Good Shoes, Envelopes, Operator Please, The Bridge Gang, The Golden Filter, Gwilym Gold, Amateur Best, Casimer&Casimir and The Knife. It was in partnership with EMI Records UK from August 2005 until February 2008. Since 2011 it has been a part of the Cooperative Music group of labels. It is also a sister company tDummymusic website and music publisher Psychotic Reaction Music. It was started in 2004 by Leo Silverman, who was previously Head of A&R at XL Recordings and also created Rex Records. An independent record label (or indie label) is a record label that operates without the funding or distribution of major record labels; they are a type of small- to medium-sized enterprise, or SME. The labels and artists are often represented by trade associations in their country or region, which in turn are represented by the international trade body, the Worldwide Independent Network (WIN). Many of the labels started as producers and distributors of specific genres of music, such as jazz music, or represent something new and non-mainstream, such as Elvis Presley in the early days. Indies release rock, soul, R&B, jazz, blues, gospel, reggae, hip hop, and world music. ''The Gleaners'' (''Des glaneuses'') is an oil painting by Jean-François Millet completed in 1857 in art, 1857. It depicts three peasant women gleaning a field of stray stalks of wheat after the harvest. The painting is famous for featuring in a sympathetic way what were then the lowest ranks of rural society; it was received poorly by the French upper classes. ''Shaking the Habitual'' is the fourth and final studio album by Swedish electronic music duo the Knife. It was released on 5 April 2013 by Rabid Records. The album was released as a double CD and triple LP, and as a digital download. The album was lauded by critics at the time of its release and was featured on several critics' year-end lists. "Full of Fire" was released as the album's lead single on 28 January 2013. An accompanying short film was directed by Marit Östberg, who contributed a film to the 2009 Swedish feminist porn compilation ''Dirty Diaries''. Envelopes
An envelope is a common packaging item, usually made of thin, flat material. It is designed to contain a flat object, such as a letter or card. Traditional envelopes are made from sheets of paper cut to one of three shapes: a rhombus, a short-arm cross or a kite. These shapes allow the envelope structure to be made by folding the sheet sides around a central rectangular area.
