"Brightside" (stylized in all uppercase) is a song by American folk rock band The Lumineers. It was released on September 20, 2021, as the lead single from the band's fourth studio album of the same name. The song was written by Jeremiah Fraites and Wesley Schultz, and produced by Simone Felice, David Baron, Brian Hubblen, Rick Mullen and Derek Brown. Content The band's singer-guitarist Wesley Schultz stated in a press release: "The song 'Brightside' was recorded in a single day. It's like a 15-year-old's fever dream, an American love story in all its glory and heartbreak. The last couple left, on the run from something and all alone". The Lumineers
The Lumineers are an American alternative folk band based in Denver, Colorado. The founding members are Wesley Schultz (lead vocals, guitar) and Jeremiah Fraites (drums, percussion, piano). Schultz and Fraites began writing and performing together in Ramsey, New Jersey, in 2005. Cellist and vocalist Neyla Pekarek joined the band in 2010, and was a member until 2018. The Lumineers emerged as one of the most popular folk-rock/Americana artists during the revival of those genres, their popularity growing in the 2010s. The band's stripped back raw sound draws heavily from artists that influenced Schultz and Fraites such as Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan and Tom Petty. ''Brightside'' (stylised in all caps) is the fourth studio album by American indie folk band the Lumineers, released on January 14, 2022, through Dualtone and Decca Records. It was primarily produced by Simone Felice and David Baron. The album was preceded by the release of three singles: the title track, "Big Shot", and "A.M. Radio". Recording Simone Felice, producer of the Lumineers' ''Cleopatra'' and '' III'', returned to produce the album alongside David Baron, who also served as mixer and engineer. The album was recorded in two sessions that took place in early ("winter and spring") 2021 at Baron's Sun Mountain Studios in Boiceville, New York.
