Bright Wireko-Brobby
Bright Wireko-Brobby (born 6 January 1972) is a Ghanaian politician and member of the Eight Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana representing the Hemang Lower Denkyira Constituency in the Central Region on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party. He is also the Deputy Minister for Employment and Labour Relations. Early life and education Wireko-Brobby was born on 6 January 1972 and hails from Twifo Hemang in the Central Region of Ghana. He holds an M.S.C in Planning and L.L.B from the Faculty of Law from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He continued to the University of Dortmund where he obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Spatial Planning. Career Wireko-Brobby has worked with organizations such as USAID, UNHCR and UNDP. Hemang Lower Denkyira (Ghana Parliament Constituency)
Hemang Lower Denkyira ()is one of the constituencies represented in the Parliament of Ghana. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. The Hemang Lower Denkyira constituency is located in the Twifo/Heman/Lower Denkyira district of the Central Region of Ghana. Boundaries The seat is located entirely within the Twifo/Heman/Lower Denkyira district of the Central Region of Ghana. History The constituency was first created in 2004 by the Electoral Commission of Ghana along with 29 other new ones, increasing the number of constituencies from 200 to 230. Ghana Union Movement
The Ghana Union Movement is a political party in Ghana. It was founded by Christian Kwabena Andrews who is also the founder of the Life Assembly Worship Center in Accra. During the launch of the party, he declared that he is "new Kwame Nkrumah" and also that the "spirit of Nkrumah is back." The party's agenda received some backing from Samia Nkrumah, daughter of Kwame Nkrumah. 2020 general election Andrews is one of the presidential candidates for the 2020 Ghanaian general election. 2020 Ghanaian General Election
General elections were held in Ghana on 7 December 2020. Incumbent President Nana Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was re-elected in the first round after securing a majority of the votes. Former President John Dramani Mahama says he will contest the results. The NPP lost its majority in the parliament, winning just as many seats as the opposition NDC, resulting in a hung parliament with a single independent (Andrew Asiamah Amoako) in the position of kingmaker. Convention People's Party
The Convention People's Party (CPP) is a Socialism, socialist political party in Ghana based on the ideas of the first President of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah. The CPP was formed in June 1949 after Nkrumah broke away from the United Gold Coast Convention (UGCC). Nkrumah was the then appointed Secretaty General of the UGCC when he was arrested by the leader of the UGCC and imprisoned for an alleged thought, plans and power against Kwame Nkrumah's leadership. Kwame Nkrumah then formed the Convention People's Party with support of some UGCC members and had a purpose for self governance. Progressive People's Party (PPP) ( ak, Kɔ anim ɔmanfo Apontow) is a political party in Ghana. It was formed in 2012 by Paa Kwesi Nduom, the presidential candidate for the Convention People's Party in the 2008 general election. National Democratic Congress (Ghana)
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is a social democratic political party in Ghana, founded by Jerry Rawlings, who was Head of State of Ghana from 1981 to 1993 and the President of Ghana from 1993 to 2001. Following the formation of the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC), which ruled Ghana following the military coup d'état on 31 December 1981, there was pressure from the international community to restore democracy. The NDC was formed as the ruling party ahead of elections in 1992, in which Rawlings was elected president, and in 1996 Rawlings was re-elected as the NDC candidate.
