Bright Light (CIA)
Bright Light is the codename of one of the Central Intelligence Agency's network of black sites—clandestine interrogation centers. The location of the site, in Bucharest, Romania, was confirmed in an exclusive report from the Associated Press on December 8, 2011. Some of the most important captives in the high value detainee program, including Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the mastermind of the September 11 attacks, were held there. Other sites in the CIA's network were in isolated locations. The Bucharest site was housed within the campus of the Romanian National Registry Office for Classified Information, explaining the need for high security. The cells the captive were held in were mounted on springs, to keep the captives off balance. According to ABC News captives were subjected to " enhanced interrogation techniques" in the Bucharest site, but were not subjected to the controversial technique of waterboarding. ''Lovesongs for Underdogs'' is the solo debut album by American singer Tanya Donelly, who had formerly recorded with Throwing Muses, The Breeders, and Belly. It was released on August 9, 1997. Two singles were released for promotion of the album. "Pretty Deep" was released in July 1997, while "The Bright Light" was released in October 1997. In the U.S both 4AD released singles were released in two parts, each including 2 newly released B-Sides. "Pretty Deep" featured "Spaghetti", "Morna", "These Days" and "Influenza". "The Bright Light" featured "Bury My Heart", "How Can You Sleep?", "Life On Sirius" and "Moon Over Boston". A music video for each single was produced and aired on Vh1 and MTV2. Both videos differed highly in creative and artistic direction from previous Belly videos and exclusively featured Tanya solo, in movie like settings. Light therapy, also called phototherapy or bright light therapy is intentional daily exposure to direct sunlight or similar-intensity artificial light in order to treat medical disorders, especially seasonal affective disorder (SAD) and circadian rhythm sleep-wake disorders. Bright Light Bright Light incorporates many elements of nu-disco into his music, also branching into synthpop, dance and house music. Career 1982-2009: Early years Thomas grew up in a small village near Neath, Wales, and learned several instruments as a child, including piano. His first forays into music were more folk-based, led by acoustic guitar with, due to a lack of equipment, minimal beats around it. Thomas later stated his dalliance with folk was due to his lack of knowledge with production techniques, and that he was always drawn to house and synthpop.
