Bridgewater Center Historic District
Bridgewater Center Historic District encompasses the traditional town center of Bridgewater, Connecticut. Centered at the junction of Main Street with Clapboard and Hat Shop Hill Roads, it developed in the early 19th century as a civic center, even before the town's 1856 incorporation from New Milford. The architecture of the center is largely reflective of the first half of the 19th century, including Greek Revival and Federal style buildings. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000. Description and history The town of Bridgewater was original part of New Milford, and was settled in the mid-18th century. It was formally separated from New Milford in 1856. The center village began to take shape with the construction in 1807 of the Congregational Church at a geographically central part of "The Neck", as the portion of New Milford east of the Housatonic River was then known. East Bridgewater Common Historic District
The East Bridgewater Common Historic District is a historic district encompassing the historic town center of East Bridgewater, Massachusetts. The district is centered on the town common, which was established in 1721, and radiates along Central Street away from the common. The oldest houses in the district date to 1703, and the Old Graveyard is also known to have been in use by that time. The First Parish Church, a focal point of the common area, was built in 1794 and extensively restyled in the 1850s. Town offices are now housed in the estate house of the Aaron Hobart, built in the 1850s in the Italianate style. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999. Bridgewater Historic District (Bridgewater, Pennsylvania)
The Bridgewater Historic District is a historic district in Bridgewater, Pennsylvania, United States. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 28, 1996, it includes buildings built between 1818 and 1933, although the most significant buildings in the district are those that were built before the Civil War in the 1860s. Located at the confluence of the Ohio and Beaver Rivers, Bridgewater was a transportation center as the terminus of the Bridgewater Canal during the pre–Civil War era. This prosperity is reflected in many of the district's buildings: the adjacent communities of Beaver and Rochester were less significant during that time, and accordingly have a much smaller number of period buildings. The district includes the Bridgewater-Rochester Bridge, a canal lock for the Bridgewater Canal, and 97 buildings. Bridgewater Historic District is a national historic district located at Bridgewater, Rockingham County, Virginia. The district encompasses 127 contributing buildings and 1 contributing site in the central business district and surrounding residential areas of the town of Bridgewater. It includes a variety of residential, commercial, and institutional buildings most of which date from the 19th century and early-20th century. Notable buildings include the Jacob Dinkle House, the St. Claire Kyle House, the J. G. Brown House, Dr. T. H. B. Brown House, the Hite House, Childress House, Whitmore House, the O. W. Miller House, Dr. Strickler House, Masonic Lodge, Methodist Church (1841), Baptist Church (1855, 1883), Farmer's Bank (c. 1883), Berlin Building (1883), Geary Building (1887), and the Lutheran Church (1881).
